Obelisk Art 450
A temporary public art initiative of Compassionate St. Augustine, Obelisk Art 450 pays tribute to the 450th anniversary of the nation’s oldest city in 2015 while promoting a legacy of compassion.  This very first  St. Augustine’s public arts exhibit features 25 artistically interpreted 8.5-foot tall obelisk replicas of the Monumento a la Constitución on St. Augustine’s Plaza de la Constitucion.  Each of the 25 renowned artist’s obelisks demonstrates a story line and the four foundational values to the monument originally dedicated in 1813: Freedom, Democracy, Human Rights and Compassion. Each obelisk will be located at a site in St. Augustine that relates to the artist’s interpretation.  The Obelisk’s will be on display through January 2016. Star Wars: Episode VII, The Force Awakens at the IMAX Theater

Nights of Lights
St. Augustine glows with holiday magic – from the ground to the rooftops through January 31. Crealdé’s St. Augustine at 450 Documentary Project

Presented by the St. Johns Cultural Council in the Rotunda Gallery of the St. Johns County Administration Building, this exhibit features the work of 10 photographers who captured the oldest city on the occasion of its 450th anniversary. Celebrate Art 2016: Juried Artist Member Exhibition

St. Augustine Art Association presents Black, White and Shades of Gray
The St. Augustine Art Association’s juried exhibit “Black, White and Shades of Gray,” runs through January 30. Midwinter is far from bleak with this sophisticated and surprising exhibition of works in black, white and shades of gray. First People Exhibit at the St. Augustine Art Association

The St. Augustine Art Association’s First People is a special art and archaeology exhibition of Native American artifacts discovered in St. Augustine. The exhibit runs through February 28. The End Of The Tour at the Corazon Cinema
Each day the Corazon Cinema and Cafe will be showing The End of the Tour, a documentary of the five-day interview between Rolling Stone reporter David Lipsky and acclaimed novelist David Foster Wallace, which took place right after the 1996 publication of Wallace’s groundbreaking epic novel ‘Infinite Jest.  Admission is $8 adults, $7 students, military and seniors. Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue and New Brass Band Concert
The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall hosts Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, a funk/rock/jazz/hip-hop band. Trombone Shorty’s first album, Backatown, was released in 2010 and was nominated for a Grammy. His 2011 album, For True, topped Billboard’s contemporary jazz chart for 12 weeks. New Brass Band lives and breathes the culture of New Orleans, infusing funk, rock, jazz and hip-hop into a custom-made enhancement of second-line brass tradition. Guided Beach Exploration Guana South Beache
Join GTM Research Reserve Docents from 8:30 – 10 a.m. for a beach walk at the Guana South Beach location on A1A, South Ponte Vedra Beach. Learn about the animals that call the beach home as well as seashells and other interesting facts. This is a “Beaches 101” experience that the entire family will enjoy. Photography Challenge Event
Photographers, from beginners to professionals, compete to take the best photo at three designated locations within Washington Oaks Gardens State Park. Maps to the featured locations can be obtained from the Ranger Station or from volunteers in the main parking lot. Each month, park volunteers will select the winning photo which will then be displayed at the Visitors Information Center kiosk and the park’s gift shop. There is no cost to compete. Tolomato Cemetery Guided Tour

EMMA Concert Performance: Poulenc Trio
EMMA Concert Association presents The Poulenc Trio, the most active touring piano-wind chamber music ensemble in the world at 7:30 p.m. at Flagler College’s Lewis Auditorium. Since the Trio’s founding, they have exhibited a strong commitment to commissioning, performing and recording new works from living composers, greatly expanding the repertoire available for the oboe, bassoon and piano, with 20 new works written for and premiered by the group. Fountain of Youth: Cherokee History Presentations
From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., native Cherokee historians describe how their people interacted with the local Timucua for centuries before the arrival of Europeans. Matanzas Inlet Guided Walk
From 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m., enjoy a free, guided interpretive walk around Matanzas Inlet. Presented by the GTM Research Reserve and the National Park Service, the walk features an explanation of the ever-changing shoreline, tidal flats, beaches, dunes, dune vegetation and the dynamics of natural sand movement. Bring cameras and binoculars. Meet the guide at the western parking lot on A1A just north of the Inlet Bridge and the town of Marineland.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Remembrance March
