Florida’s Birding & Photo Fest
Florida’s Historic Coast is spreading its wings to present another great year of birding and outdoor photography. The two-day Vilano Fest is “the best in tunes, tastings and tours in the area,” according to the entertainers who perform here and the fans who return each year. Anastasia State Park will host a Historical Look into the Old Spanish Quarries program from 10-11 a.m. Experience a new perspective of the Old Spanish Quarries at Anastasia State Park in relation to the famous Castillo de San Marcos and the survival of St. Augustine. This informative program with a fun and knowledgeable ranger will bring the history of the quarry to life as you learn about the amazing work that occurred in the Old Spanish Quarries and the architecture that influenced the history of St. Augustine. Black Heritage & Civil Rights Walking Tour

Anastasia State Park is hosting a concert series in partnership with Cape Leisure. Each concert will begin with an open jam session from 5-6 p.m. Guests and local musicians will be welcomed to the stage to showcase their talents. Each month will feature a different local musician or band for a two-hour show at the beach pavilion, and this month’s performance is by Brent Byrd and the Suitcase Gypsies. In honor of National Park Week, Castillo de San Marcos National Monument will host a special evening candlelight event. National Park Week is about celebrating America’s treasures – the national parks.
