No matter what the subject we discuss, or the century we discuss it in, humanity still strives to find a way to lessen the problems they see all around them. They want a greener world; they want to save nature, find projects that will increase energy and move away from oil and gas – and the list goes on.
There are so many industries that are gearing up to make 2014 the ‘greenest’ year on record. And, of course, the only way they can do this and get the job done is to make sure that their advertising campaigns for their products and services cater to the worldwide audience that wants to see this planet healthy again.
The World Wide Web is the place where all this responsible action needs to occur, especially since consumers practically live on their mobile devices and computers. Everyone knows that the most important thing on the business owner’s mind – especially the small business – is creating a brand and marketing that brand using social media. This not only helps the company, but social media also gives the consumer a chance to smile because, just by utilizing this technology, they are saving everything from paper and pulp to energy that’s needed for other, more important things.
The trend for 2014 will most definitely be companies stressing the fact that they are creating products for the consumer that help the planet. They will be stressing how hard they are working to make sure they do their part to decrease the carbon footprint. Companies in all industries will make it their mission to show the consumer that they are becoming more environmentally and socially aware. And, because the consumer purchases these brands, they will no longer have to suffer the pangs of guilt that come from purchasing products that may not be environmentally-sound.
The automotive industry is one that is constantly changing, reinventing, researching and producing information for the consumer on the subject of electric cars. Once considered a luxury that only a few could afford, electric cars will be manufactured that others can enjoy. They are sporty, compact and, above all, they focus on stopping global warming and decreasing pollution. Hence, the industry will offer great cars with no guilt.
This will also be seen in everything from batteries to LED lighting to the construction industry. More and more construction companies are leaning towards the building of environmentally-safe homes. They are encouraging the practice of rooftop gardens in suburbia for insulation purposes, as well as promoting Energy Smart appliances that will save consumers money and help the environment at the same time.
When it comes to the consumers love of fashion and the cosmetics industry, these companies will not only be putting out products that are more sustainable, chemical-free, and far more ethical when it comes to manufacturing processes, but they will also create their social media campaigns so that the consumer will know that THEY are the brand to choose when purchasing a great product that will never bring guilt along with it.
People turn to their mobile devices in order to read testimonials and find out what the best companies are in any given industry. Therefore, with social media at the top of the charts, all companies and all brands – no matter what their industry may be – must put together marketing campaigns that reach the consumer and solve their issues. Only then will they receive that great ‘word of mouth’ necessary to expand.
In 2014, there will be a growing need and belief that this planet has to be saved. Everything from the air we breathe to the oceans that support marine life that humanity needs in order to survive, will be the issues that weigh heavily on the consumer’s mind. And, because of this, they will gravitate to those brands that play a role in protecting habitats and creating a better, safer world.
Now THAT is a fantastic New Year’s Resolution!
