TenPoint’s New Venom Crossbow:
Compact, Light and Speedy!
American hunters have been asking for lighter, more compact durable crossbows, and TenPoint delivered this year with the introduction of the Venom. It’s a crossbow that combines old and new technologies in a powerful hunting tool that weighs a mere 6.5 pounds, boasts a narrow, 13.25-inch bow assembly, and dresses up nicely in a Mossy Oak Break-Up Infinity finish.
Hunters are raving about the Venom’s rugged yet lightweight carbon fiber barrel that is anchored by TenPoint’s exclusive Functionally Superior Bullpup (FSB) stock. A 4-inch bullpup version of the PowerTouch trigger releases at just 3.5 pounds of pressure to unleash 185 pounds of draw. The effect is a TenPoint Pro Lite arrow that launches downrange at a blazing 372 feet per second.
“When we launched our carbon fiber technology in 2011, we knew it would change the landscape of our lineup for years to come,” said Rick Bednar, CEO of TenPoint Crossbow Technologies. “The Venom pairs that technology with a supercharged XLT bow assembly to deliver a compact, ultra light and fast crossbow that will be attractive to the most demanding of our customers.”
Configured with optimal comb height and length of pull, the FSB butt stock uses strategically placed cutouts or ports to reduce weight and improve balance. Its embedded carbon fiber barrel rests on rubber inserts and dual-purpose rubber safety wings to reduce noise and vibration and to help keep the shooter’s fore-grip hand safely below the flight deck. This new stock and shortened barrel configuration is a compact 34.7 inches long.
The bow assembly features TenPoint’s popular XLT riser equipped with 11-inch IsoTaper Limbs. The company combined those existing features with its new Hybrid Eccentric 2 cams that have been optimized for the Venom design. Also new is the DynaFLIGHT 97 string and cables with a hard yoke system. The result is an XLT bow assembly that is narrower than standard crossbows, with a longer-than-standard 13.25-inch power stroke.
Like all TenPoint models, the Venom also features TenPoint’s patented Dry-Fire-Inhibitor and comes equipped with ACUdraw or ACUdraw 50 cocking units and a RangeMaster Pro scope.
The model sells only as a complete package that includes six Pro Elite carbon arrows with Omni-Nocks, quiver, Ambidextrous Side-Mount Quiver Bracket, and Bowjax limb, stirrup, barrel, and retention spring dampeners.
The Venom ACUdraw model sells for $1,699, or just $1,599 with ACUdraw 50.
TenPoint is 100 percent USA owned and operated. All TenPoint crossbows are made in Mogadore, OH.
