They say that timing is everything. And “they” may be right. I guess we all have those opportunities that when we look back and say, “I wish I had” about something. That chance to buy Apple or Google stock on day one.
For me it was when, as a child in grade school it happened that John F Kennedy drove by my school and stopped to shake the hands of the kids who were out at recess. I have often thought of that moment in time when I was so close and yet so far, still sitting in my class. There was so much excitement from those kids and yet the moment came and went and I missed it!
I think we all wish we had one of those moments when the right thing came along at just the right time and we actually recognized it and jumped on the opportunity. Well, having been in the relationship marketing industry for a while now and having experienced some of the good and bad of it, when a friend of mine told me about Nerium I had my antenna up for both the good and bad.
I had previously been in the nutrition industry and knew little about skin care. I did my due diligence on this. As I learned more about anti-aging and skin care (currently a $90 billion industry) it got my attention. People are very loyal to products that work. And even to ones that don’t. The products are what we call “sticky”. Customers stay customers for an average of well over a year and frequently many years.
Ever wonder why every single department store has cosmetics as the first department in the store? Because it is HUGE business. People LOVE to look good. Even men are now accounting for about 20% of the market and growing.
And Nerium International, in particular, has much more going for it. Jeff Olson and Dennis Windsor, founders have many years of success building other billion dollar businesses. They know what they are doing. Nerium Biotech, the company that develops and creates Nerium AD has the science down! In fact, it was an accidental discovery that the extract from the oleander plant that they were using at MD Anderson, the cancer hospital, was great for wrinkles and other cosmetic skin issues. So, the product works and has the clinical trials to back it up.
And timing. Ah timing. When I was introduced we were just 8 months old. Now we are just 13 months old. We are breaking records in the industry. Sales in the 12th month alone were over $11 million with one product so far and more to come. Plans to expand to 52 countries. And the US market in its infancy. Yes, timing is everything. And this time I was in the right place at the right time. And this time I jumped on it.
