COMMUNITY FIRST CREDIT UNION’S “A DECEMBER TO REMEMBER”

KICKS OFF THIS FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 28 AND SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 29

ADTR_FlyerSt. Augustine, Fla.  – Community First Credit Union’s “A December To Remember” featuring several free, family-friendly holiday festivities kicks off this Friday, November 28 and Saturday, November 29 at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre.

This Friday, November 28 at 4pm, the gates to the St. Augustine Amphitheatre will open and families are invited to explore a completely transformed, holiday-themed Amphitheatre. Thousands of lights illuminate the trees and walkways which are decorated with elf houses, holiday characters and a beautiful, towering Holiday Tree. From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. families can enjoy free train rides, face painting, a bounce house, nightly snowfall and visits with Santa! At 6 p.m., the holiday classic “It’s A Wonderful Life” will be shown on an 18-foot tall movie screen for all to enjoy!

On Saturday, November 29 families are invited back to the St. Augustine Amphitheatre for an Elf Workshop and Holiday Storytime Reading celebration. The Elf Workshop will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Plaza and features art educators from local elementary schools leading fun holiday art projects including decorating ceramic pins, making ornaments and origami snowflakes and constructing stick puppets! There is no cost for the Elf Workshop and children will have their own unique, festive creations to take home! Teachers leading the Elf Workshop will be Linda McAnarney of Julington Creek, Jamie Wardley of Palencia, Cassandra Lietz of Webster and Rick Greenbough of Crookshank. This very special workshop was made possible by the Friends Of the St. Augustine Amphitheatre. The Holiday Storytime Reading will begin at 6 p.m. in the Catering Room of the Amphitheatre. Led by SJCCA students, families can hear holiday favorites such as “How The Grinch Stole Christmas”, “Twas the Night Before Christmas” and more read aloud. Families are encouraged to bring pillows and blankets. Free train rides, face painting, Santa visits and a nightly snowfall will also be a part of the festivities starting at 4pm.

Community First Credit Union’s “A December To Remember” is a month-long series of family-friendly, community-based holiday festivities from November 28 through December 20. This year’s series is packed with exciting holiday events such as free movies screenings, two free holiday concerts (The Rockapella Holiday Revue on December 10 and The Manhattan Transfer Christmas show on December 11), an Elf Workshop, Holiday Storytime Reading, food trucks movie night, a production of “Yes, Virginia The Musical” by Murray Middle School, drive-in theatre nights and more. Ticketed events include Daryl Hall & John Oates on December 6 and Trampled By Turtles on December 12. A full schedule is located on Pages 2 and 3.

The Amphitheatre will be open to the public and fully decorated all month long with lights, festive décor, a holiday tree, an Elf Village and festive music. Mythica Post: Are You All Alone?

Recently I made a discovery that the reason it feels that I have been swimming against the current all by myself trying to figure out what’s wrong is because I am in a vast sea of people who are all around me thinking the same thing. Haven’t you felt it too? Some strange inertia holding you back from that next realization that will give you the breakthrough financially? in your relationship, in your self worth and value? in meaningful work? … [Read More its Good For You...]

Witt Of Will & The Daily Scream Global Warming or just a snowjob! Well, I Woke up today with snow on the ground, not real common in these parts of California. But, it was her first time seeing snow, so we loaded up in the truck and headed … [Read More its Good for You...]

Year-Round Hunting with Airguns   Just because a flip of the page on your calendar marked the end of traditional fall hunting seasons doesn't mean you have to stop hunting. Hunters across the United States keep their shooting and hunting skills sharp year-round by targeting small game, varmints, rodents and other pests with airguns. That's right, airguns. Even serious shooters such as J. Wayne Fears, Tony Martins and Rick Ward … [Read More its Good for You...]

The NFL’s Dosey Doe

The NFL’s Dosey Doe ~ Amy Lignor  If the San Diego Chargers lose, the Baltimore Ravens go into the post-season; if they both lose, yada, yada, yada. Seattle can clip home field advantage with a win over the Rams and a non-tie between Green Bay and Detroit. The Steelers need to hit the Bengals hard if they’re going in, as well as winning their division. The Packers and Detroit need to face-off in Green Bay (which was the best game on TV), to … [Read More its Good for You...]
