Check Out Jordan Spieth’s New Pad

By Burt Carey

Before winning two major championships, the PGA Tour championship and the FedEx Cup in 2015, world’s No. 1 golfer Jordan Spieth bought a palatial mansion in the upscale Dallas
neighborhood Preston Hollow for a cool $2.3 million.

The 7,378-square-foot home wasn’t big enough.

Spieth, who won $22 million in 2015 and tacked on another $31 million in endorsement deals, busted out his checkbook in December to buy fellow golfer Hunter Mahan’s Preston Hollow estate for $7.15 million.

The two golfers played together in the first two rounds of the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial in Fort Worth last May, when Mahan’s 16,665-square-foot mansion was on the market for $8.5 million. The affluent Preston Hollow neighborhood is home to several celebrities and sports stars, including Dallas Mavericks owner and billionaire Mark Cuban.

The house includes an outsized infinity pool dashed in mosaic tile, an indoor basketball court, golf simulator, wine cellar, and a 12-car underground garage that sports a mural of the clubhouse at the Augusta National Golf Club. With five bedrooms and six bathrooms, Spieth won’t have any trouble spreading out his 6’1” frame.

He can stay in shape by working out in his downstairs gym, which includes garage-style doors on one wall so he can exercise with fresh air when the weather permits.

A well-appointed kitchen and dining room is highlighted by an open-beamed ceiling, and a gorgeous crystal chandelier hangs from the cathedral ceiling of a modern living room that is sided by floor to ceiling windows on one wall.

Spieth recently signed yet another multi-year endorsement contract, this one with Coca Cola, adding to a corporate partner list that includes Under Armour, AT&T, Titleist, PerfectSense, Rolex, Net Jets and Super Stroke. He also heads up the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation, which offers a platform for him to lend time, help grow awareness and offer financial support for three philanthropic areas: special needs youth, junior golf, and military support.

For those concerned that perhaps the R by the trappings of his success, he won the Hyundai Tournament of Champions in Kapalua, Hawaii two weeks ago, finishing at 30 under par, eight strokes ahead of second place Patrick Reed.

This week Spieth is in Abu Dhabi for the HSBC Championship, where he will face the world’s No. 3, Rory McIlroy, and No. 6, Rickie Fowler, among others.
