2nd Annual St. Augustine Cycling Festival Returns to St. Augustine Amphitheater

On September 11-12, the 2nd Annual St. Augustine Cycling Festival will return to the St. Augustine Amphitheater with plenty to do, see, and enjoy for bicyclists from the casual rider to professional racer. The event offers an ideal opportunity to learn about one of the world’s most popular sports-health activities and to promote safe and healthy cycling lifestyles in north Florida.

The two day-event offers a bicycle expo both days, a clinic and live music on Saturday, plenty of food and drink, and the 21st Annual Endless Summer Watermelon Ride on Sunday. This ride offers routes from 30 to 100 miles and is listed in Elizabeth and Charles Skinner’s book, The Best Rides in the South.
The Bicycle Expo runs Saturday, noon to 8 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and offers special deals on bicycles, clothing, and accessories, as well as educational opportunities for both experienced cyclists and those who think they might be interested in picking up this sports-hobby. Regional bike shops will be participating as well as representatives of most major bicycle manufacturers. A new bicycling clinic will offer nutrition and training information suitable for the beginner or expert.

Live music will be performed on stage by Trapdoor and Pili Pili on Saturday from 2 to 8 p.m., and by Tony Novelly on Sunday, from noon to 3:30 p.m. A $3,500 gift certificate good for the purchase of a new bicycle at any of Champion Cycling’s locations will be raffled off to benefit the Boy Scouts of America, North Florida Council. Tickets may be purchased at any Champion Cycling shop, from Billy Morrow at LBA Certified Accounts, or at the Bike Expo, Saturday and Sunday, Sept 11th and 12th.

The St. Augustine Amphitheatre is located on Anastasia Island at 1340C A1A South. Admission is free to both the Bicycle Expo and the concert. Find out more at www.staugustinecyclingfestival.com or contact Michael Breeden at 904.472.6301 or pr@staugustinecyclingfestival.com.

The St. Augustine Cycling Festival is a collaborative project by the North Florida Bicycle Club, Boy Scouts of America, St. Johns County Recreation & Parks and the St Augustine, Ponte Vedra, and the Beaches Visitors and Convention Bureau.

The ‘Invisible’ Manning WILL Be Heard!

The ‘Invisible’ Manning WILL Be Heard! ~Amy Lignor Yes, we all hear about Peyton and his Broncos almost every minute of the day. But it seems, thus far, that his little bro (the one with more rings than his brother, but far less press), is having the time of his life right now. He is setting the Giants up to look good – very good – as contenders this season. And he has one thing his poor brother doesn’t have, receivers he knows and can work … [Read More its Good for You...]

Mythica on a Fracking Tour at Noble energy

Mythica Blog: What the Frack is going on!?!?!

Recently I was invited by a friend of mine who is a photographer for the oil and gas industry to go on a tour of a Colorado local energy company, Noble Energy. I went because I am the idiot who likes to hear both sides of a story. I'd also prefer to know something first hand than hearsay. So I went to learn about Fracking. I went on this tour with the same basic knowledge that most of the people I know have about Fracking. 1. Fracking is … [Read More its Good for You...]

The ‘Green’ of the Gaming Industry

The ‘Green’ of the Gaming Industry  ~ Samantha Lewis ‘Green’ comes in two forms with the gaming industry in 2014. The ‘green’ – as in cash – is what the gaming industry is seeing more and more of these days.
