Dog in Bronson Needs Urgent Help to Stay Alive

Filed under activism, Pets / Animals

Urgent adoption or rescue is needed for a dog at a shelter in Florida so that he can stay alive and find a forever home.bart-1125 (1)

Following is how the dog’s description has been posted on Facebook in his own words:

My name is Bart. I’m at Levy County Animal Services, which is located in Bronson, FL. Several of my friends got really lucky last week. Their lives were saved by some wonderful people; but no one came for ME. I really thought I had a chance of getting out of here ALIVE.. Ms. Jody calls me a “big ‘ol marshmallow”! When she comes and visits me all I do is lean up against the door of my kennel so I can get as much lovin’ as I can!

I’m a Great Dane mix, approximately 2 1/2-3 yrs old. I weigh close to 100 lbs. I’m heartworm negative.

I do a good job of keeping my kennel as clean as I can… it’s been really hard though; there isn’t much room; I just don’t understand what I did to deserve to be put behind bars!! Why are animals like me put in “jail cells”?!.. We are the innocent ones, and when no one wants us, we are “sentenced to death”. It doesn’t seem fair…….

I know I’m a big boy… but could you please try and find room to take me home?.. I have less than 48 hours for my “Holiday Hero” to come..
