Robin Houlgate

When you need someone to sing with you, share your joy and feel what you are feeling, Robin is right there with you all the way. I ought to know. I am her husband and she inspires me every day with her courage and inner strength.

Last July, Robin suffered a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital. While under observation in the Cardiology Intensive Care Unit, she was also diagnosed with colon-rectal cancer. She has since undergone radiation therapy treatments. Robin is continuing on in her battle to beat the cancer with an integrative approach.

Her heart attack was attributable to a defect she has had since childhood. In most cases, an Atrial Septal Defect, characterized by an aperture between the heart chambers, would close up and the heart would resume normal function. In Robin’s case, the ASD never closed and now that she is in her mid 50′s, the consequences of it remaining open pose more trouble for her unless it gets treated. Fortunately, there are procedures available now that weren’t available a few years ago, where an ASD can be closed without open-heart surgery.

We ask you to donate generously to help defray the costs that are not covered by her insurance to help us get through these trying times. Whatever you can give is deeply and sincerely appreciated from the bottom of our hearts.

Please note that donations made here are not tax deductible, and 5% of all donations go toward paying for this GoFundMe page. This site uses Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to ensure the safety of your donations.

Thank you for your love and generosity.
