The Power of Multichannels

This is 2012! And the way time is passing, 2013 will be here tomorrow. Therefore, as we look into the future, when it comes to businesses and products there is far more than one way to buy something. But for a good, long time companies did not ‘come around’ to the idea that their business can be expanded causing their ROI to eventually soar, if they allowed their customers to have a multitude of locations where their brand, their products and their company name appeared in the social media universe as well as everywhere else in their particular industry.

Many sites beat to death the fact that you and your business need to attract more customers, but most do not actually tell you anything but the standard rigamarole that everyone is preaching out there on the Net. Social Media IS the power of profit. Social media managers and agencies ARE a must-have for all businesses – start-up and veteran – in order to attract new customers and build their brand over a multitude of networks that are just waiting out there to be utilized. Therefore, the concept of multichannels is a concept that actually works.

When thinking about television, everyone will shake their head and sigh, because ‘multichannels’ used to be the ‘best’ and most innovative thing in the world. Of course, now that there’s absolutely nothing good on television that concept is pretty much shot. But when it comes to businesses and marketing, multichannels is the ‘wave’ of technology that will stick and IS necessary to utilize on a daily basis.

For a brief overview, Multichannel marketing is, in its simplest form, the ability to market by using various marketing channels in order to reach a customer base and keep that customer base growing. Channels, of course, include many different areas of your business – not only social media. A storefront, your web site, a catalogue – all of these constitute channels in the marketing world. And these channels all put together are simply to make it extremely easy for a customer to buy from your company in whatever way they wish – the easiest form for them.  Product information, details on the brand, prices, all of this information that must be offered and ‘shouted-out,’ to the world in order to get a client base to respond to your company above any other. Each channel actually shows the owner how much that particular channel brings in profit-wise in regards to the company’s ROI (return on investment).

There are facts out there, people. 99.9 % of businesses use multichannel marketing in order to boost their sales and increase the distribution and knowledge of their product. The same 99.9% believe that multichannels are the one and only way to not only keep their business going in these hard economic times but also how to make their company thrive while others in their market niche are closing their doors.

There are, as always, so many research studies out there regarding these facts and figures, such as one from a company called Sitecore. (*Study conducted by Forrester Research) This stated that: “87% of marketing decision-makers from around the world believe they will drive more sales and profit by evolving into effective multichannel marketing organizations. The same percentage believe that successfully integrating multiple channels under a single integrated marketing strategy is critical to their long-term success.” If the numbers in the social media world mean anything, it’s that this research study is absolutely correct.
