Yes, exercise. No, I’m not talking about slamming yourself at the gym for five hours a day and trying to kill yourself. That’s fine for some, but most of us do not have the time, nor the energy for a strict workout schedule such as that. Do you need to do that for your health? Nope. Not even close. Daily exercise can be anything – walking, jogging, playing in the park with the kids – and daily exercise not only improves a little bit of everything, it also reduces the aging process. Think about that. By doing something you love and enjoy you can improve your eyesight, level out your blood pressure, improve muscle tissue and bone density (which is a huge need seeing as that osteoporosis and arthritis have become a larger and larger problem with each decade that goes by). You can also lower your cholesterol. And you may not believe this one BUT it’s true. Ten minutes of exercise a day makes a difference. Seriously, dance in your kitchen while making dinner, jump rope, play hopscotch, bike, hike – anything to get off that couch and away from your video games. That’s the Better Way Health Revolution!
Yup. Sleep. I know, there are many who are guilty of saying and thinking: “I’ll sleep when I’m dead.” BUT, unfortunately, getting no sleep can bring you to that place a whole lot quicker than you’d expect. If you have trouble sleeping, there are relaxation techniques such as meditation and yoga that could help you calm down the mind enough to fall asleep.
