Free Entry to Dr. Cusick’s Lecture on Florida History

Please join the 450th Military Commemoration Committee and the Veterans Council of St. Johns County for an evening of unique historical narrative!

Dr. James G. Cusick Historian and Curator of the P.K. Yonge Library of Florida History will share the story of The Other War of 1812: The Patriot War and the American Invasion of Spanish East Florida at 7 pm on Friday, April 27, 2012, at the Flagler College Auditorium, St. Augustine, FL.

Admission to Dr. Cusick’s lecture is free of charge to the public.

Dr. Cusick’s published works include a major bibliographic essay on colonial Spanish Florida for Oxford Bibliographies Online (2011), a chapter on the Seminole of Alachua in America’s Hundred Year’s War (University Press of Florida, 2011), and the topic of tonight’s talk, The Other War of 1812: The Patriot War and the American Invasion of Spanish East Florida (University of Georgia Press, Athens, 2006). He is also a contributor to The Florida Historical Quarterly and El Escribano, the Journal of the St. Augustine Historical Society, serves as a judge in the non-fiction category for the State of Florida’s annual book awards, and will shortly take up duties as president of the Florida Historical Society.
