“Outstanding” Housekeeping Rating Awarded to Five St. Augustine Inns

Five St. Augustine inns have received the Donal A. Dermody White Glove Award in recognition of their outstanding performance in housekeeping. The awards were presented as a result of an annual quality-assurance audit performed by The Property Review Program – an independent on-site inspection service serving the hotel and cruise industries.

The award-winning properties are the St. Francis Inn; Carriage Way Bed & Breakfast Inn; Casablanca Bed & Breakfast Inn on the Bay; the Bayfront Inn and the Cozy Inn. Based on previous audits and performance, all five are members of the prestigious Superior Small Lodgings Program.

“These ratings not only reflect credit on these individual properties, they also help remind potential visitors of the quality-assurance efforts that take place throughout the destination,” said Richard Goldman, executive director of the St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra and The Beaches Visitors and Convention Bureau. “We’re delighted with The Property Review Program’s efforts in maintaining and confirming the superior quality of our accommodations.”

Goldman added that the quality of the visitor experience has always been a key component of marketing Florida’s Historic Coast as an outstanding tourism destination. The awards from the Property Review Program are impressive confirmations of the quality of the destination’s lodgings.

“One of the great things about these awards is that they are not given to simply recognize conformance to quality requirements. They reflect conformance to guest expectations,” said Ben Hirschenfang, quality assurance auditor and chief information officer for The Property Review Program. “Innkeepers are challenged to meet the expectations of their guests and these awards confirm that’s exactly what they have done.”
