Once Upon a Time: The Dream Wedding at The King and Prince

Never settle for someone less than the one who can fulfill your soul.  -Amy Lignor

It’s here. It’s the day you’ve been hoping for since you were a little girl playing dress-up in Mom’s closet, or watching Cinderella for the ten thousandth time and dreaming of that glass slipper…and how well it fits. No matter what anyone wants to say or snicker at, your wedding day is the biggest event of your life. Finding the one you love is a feat unto itself, but you did it! You have met your soul mate, and you want this day to be the most memorable and beautiful one of your life.  What do you do?

Let’s be honest, as the ‘perfect couple’ – the center of attention – your minds are already filled with the joy, wonder and excitement of it all. Yet the anxiety of finding that ‘it’ dress, the right location, the perfect menu, the wine, the music…the bride usually wants to pull her hair out, yet you don’t want to ruin anything that the hairdresser needs in order to make you look extra beautiful for the wedding of your dreams. Who do you turn to?

The King and Prince Resort provides a breathtaking oceanfront backdrop for a wedding day that is beyond magical. From the stunning venue spaces (hosting intimate gatherings of twenty up to large receptions of three hundred), culinary creations, exceptional amenities, and an attentive staff that will ensure the success of your special day – The King and Prince Resort does it all. They are the perfect place to create the ultimate fantasy.

The first step to creating a perfect wedding is location, location, location. This is not a tough one to answer. The King and Prince Resort is a true paradise, and they are always providing ‘5-star’ services that include endless amenities and locations for everything from bridesmaid brunches to big band receptions. Only steps from the Atlantic Ocean is a fully-landscaped lawn that is the ultimate site for outdoor functions; whether it’s the rehearsal dinner, the ceremony, or the reception, there is nothing more stunning on earth.

Have your wedding ceremony for up to one hundred people with the center aisle that will take you to the man of your dreams. Or, the ceremony and reception for up to fifty people. Perhaps a seated meal for two hundred guests, a Hors D’oeuvres Reception for up to three hundred, and music for everyone to enjoy in nature’s paradise.
The Lanier Ballroom is also available which is the largest banquet space at The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort. Here you can have a seated meal, with or without a dance floor, music until midnight – truly magnificent!

The Retreat Room on the second floor – the Ocean Front room – has a lobby that boasts a working antique bar and a stunning fireplace. Rounded windows that offer a breathtaking 180º view of the Atlantic Ocean that can be the most unforgettable focal point of your ceremony. Or, perhaps the luxurious setting for your reception.

The Delegal is the formal dining room of The King and Prince Resort, and it features large picture windows with antique stained glass transoms that overlook the stunning lawn and the Atlantic Ocean. Seated Meals, with or without a dance floor, and music until eleven p.m.

The Solarium is a beautifully, fully-furnished parlor that resides on the ground floor of the magnificent hotel. With large windows and a stunning fireplace that would offer the most exquisite backdrop for your wedding photographs, this is yet another choice that will make it even more difficult to decide which location in The King and Prince will be the perfect backdrop for the event of your life.

What is the next step?  The reception. What to serve…what are the choices? The King and Prince Resort have experts – masters of the wedding planning craft that offer everything the two of you could possibly want.

From hors d’oeuvres that include chilled jumbo shrimp to fresh strawberries with chocolate fondue; assorted mini quiche, fried ravioli served with marinara sauce, Lobster Wellington, and everything you can possibly imagine in between.

You can choose a Chef Prepared Pasta Station; a Chilled Seafood Bar; and even a Chef’s Carved Specialties menu that offers everything from prime rib of beef with freshly baked rolls, au jus, mustard and horseradish cream sauce, to roasted pork loin

Your guests can feast on decorative platters that include fruit and cheese displays or snacks, like fresh salsa with tri-colored tortilla chips. Have a table of mouthwatering sweets that includes cakes, pies, tortes, and chocolate mousse.

A three-hour open bar is available with name brand mixed drinks, beer, wine, champagne. And, in the morning, the happy couple there is everything from executive continental breakfasts to a southern breakfast buffet.

The King and Prince, as I stated earlier, are masters of their craft. And they wish nothing more than to give you and your wedding party the best of everything. They offer inspired itineraries for weddings that are unparalleled – unique and far above anything you’ve ever dreamed of. With that in mind, they offer packages that you will love, as you gather your friends and family from around the country to become a part of your special day.

With elegant rooms, picture-perfect indoor and outdoor settings to host small, intimate or large gatherings, each and every wedding at The King and Prince Resort can be customized according to the bride’s vision. As just a quick example, here is a signature wedding itinerary from The King and Prince that can become your reality:

“We Are Family” Weekend

Thursday

Friends and family are welcomed onto the island with signature cocktails at The King’s Tavern. The 5-star restaurant where your group will enjoy the breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean as they all come together to celebrate the big day!

Friday

A relaxing stroll along the beach with friends, before heading to the Royal Treatment Cottage where you can entertain your bridesmaids by offering them massages, brunch, and manicure/pedicure treatments.

As the bride relaxes, the groom takes his group to knock down clay pigeons at Sea Island shooting school, followed by pool time, before bringing everyone back together for a cocktail reception with butler-served hors d’oeuvres and a rehearsal dinner in the Retreat Room.

Saturday

Sleep in! Relax. This is YOUR day!

Schedule hair and make-up with your bridesmaids in your Resort Residence as the groom and his group head out for a round of golf at one of the most stunning courses in the world. There, they can enjoy lunch at The King and Prince Golf Course.

And then…the moment arrives.  The perfect location, the perfect setting, the perfect groom waiting at the end of the aisle as the ceremony on the Oceanfront Lawn begins. As the vows are made and the excitement of a life together begins, you can walk into the stain-glass-lined Delegal Room to the applause of family and friends.

Sunday

As the magnificent weekend comes to an end, you can all enjoy a formal farewell brunch in the Resort’s historic Solarium, making more memories that will last a lifetime.

Another absolute favorite itinerary provided by The King and Prince is the Southern Traditions Weekend that includes everything form a Casual Low Country Boil to bike rides and early morning cruises. Ocean kayaking tours, a Southern Soul Barbeque, and a Trolley Tour that ends with a marsh-side rehearsal dinner at Halyards’ River House.  This includes a stunning ceremony at the local church with pictures to die for!

From the Spanish moss to the stunning beach, you have it all!  And the wedding blog at The King and Prince Resort offers everything from creative ideas for wedding cakes, invitations, gift baskets, and the ideal photographer for the ideal setting.

This is the most glorious day of your lives – make sure to have that celebration in the most glorious place on the planet. The King and Prince is all about beauty, elegance, and sheer magnificence that will ensure your “Once Upon a Time” becomes an absolutely perfect, “Happily Ever After.”

Congratulations!
