Monday, January 2, 2012(Ponte Vedra Beach, FL) – The Robert Cray Band will perform an intimate blues set at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall on February 14th.

Robert Cray, a five time Grammy Award winner, is an American blues guitarist, composer and singer. After several years of success as a performer, Cray was signed to Mercury Records in 1982. His third album release in 1986, Strong Persuader, received a Grammy Award, while the crossover single “Smokin’ Gun” gave him wider audience appeal and increased name recognition.

Cray has been an opening act for such major stars as Eric Clapton, and has sold out larger venues as a solo artist. There are two signature Robert Cray Stratocaster guitar models available from Fender. In 2011, he was inducted to the Blues Hall of Fame.

The Robert Cray Band also includes Tony Braunagel, Jim Pugh and Richard Cousins. Pugh is a keyboardist who has been a part of the Robert Cray Band since 1989. Bassist Cousins was a member of the band from its inception in 1974 until 1991, and rejoined in 2006.
