The New Author Headed Up The Bestseller Lists!

Ben Harrison is the amazing man we have been speaking about for months now.  ‘Jack of all trades’ is a perfect description of Ben Harrison, yet he has taken that phrase one step further.  In fact, Ben Harrison has actually mastered almost all realms of creativity and artistry that are even available to master.

This week, I am honored to announce that at the Harrison Gallery (825 White Street, Key West, Florida) on October 20th from six to eight p.m., the ‘Third Thursday’ Walk on White will have an added extra ‘event.’  Ben Harrison will launch the electronic version of CHARLIE JONES.  This post WWII generational novel set in Corpus Christi, Texas, where Ben grew up – is one of the most outstandingly entertaining, interesting and innovative novels to come around in quite a long time.  CHARLIE JONES is Ben Harrison’s very first work of fiction, and if this first novel of fiction is any indication – Ben Harrison should be writing books full-time!

In CHARLIE JONES, the characters are superb, and their personalities are so much fun that readers are automatically drawn into their world.  And, NOW, it is available on Kindle. http://amzn.com/B005R1AW2I – My advice?  Head straight there and be one of the very first to ‘discover’ this remarkable, unforgettable story.  In addition, if you are one of the ultra-proud natives and residents of the Lone Star State, this is the book for you!  The novel not only gives readers a fantastic plot, but it pays homage to the great state of Texas.

And Ben Harrison certainly knows his subject matter.  Born in San Antonio, Ben was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, which he has said before was a truly wonderful place to grow up during the 50’s and 60’s.  He has stated that his “unconventional” father introduced him to a lot of diverse things, including musical theater.  And before Ben and his sister had arrived in the world, dad was a B-29 pilot in WWII, and came back with an energetic approach to life.  After the war, he took a job with an oil company as an accountant and pilot.  Later becoming an “independent oil operator,” meaning he was an oil speculator without a real job.  In 1960, dad bought his first ‘V-tail Bonanza’ (wood prop), and in that plane and newer versions, Ben Harrison flew all over the place.  Though dad wanted Ben to become one of those ‘stable’ members of society, Ben took after his father and sought out life.  Thankfully, for his readers, who will now be able to partake of Ben Harrison’s adventures.

Yes…there is so much more.  Just in time for Halloween, Ben Harrison’s fantastic work of nonfiction – Undying Love is available in eBook as well.  http://amzn.com/B005SG80Y4. This startlingly dramatic plot is the true story of von Cosel’s passion that defied death. You will be absolutely awed by Ben Harrison’s nonfiction marvel which is based on an incredible, hard-to-believe crime, that some would simply refer to as a very unique “relationship.”

Ben Harrison, of course, doesn’t stop at literary works.  As we have all come to know, this writer also has a musical side – with magical CD’s that offer audiences entertainment, fun, and all out perfection every time he gets behind a microphone.  Add to that the power he has to create screenplays for musical theatre – Clouds Over the Sunshine Inn.  This musical dinner show is writing and entertainment at its finest, and – like the other Ben Harrison CD’s – offers audiences a chance to simply sit back, relax and enjoy.

Perhaps one of the things that charms me the most about Ben Harrison is his gift of ‘light.’  As I’ve said before, in a world that seems to concentrate on drama and the negative, it is so wonderful to meet someone who is completely intent on offering ‘positive’ and fun music, books, and art in all of its most fantastic forms.

I have to speak once again of the CD’s that Ben Harrison has created: Air Sunshine and Erin Elkins and Ben Harrison.  In the first (and still my personal favorite) Air Sunshine offers sheer spirit! The songs and ‘vibe’ are thoughtful, fun, and unbelievably unforgettable.  The second CD mentioned is a deep, passionate, and thrilling combination of songs that keep the listener glued to every track.

Vision, passion, inventiveness, imagination…a menu of traits is what a true artist and storyteller must own in order to succeed.  Ben Harrison has absolutely no problem owning any of the above. He has made a name for himself in a variety of worlds from literary to music to art to his own community.

Add into all this talent the incredible Harrison Gallery, which Ben and his wife, Helen own, and you have literally found Ben Harrison’s mystical ‘hand’ in a number of artistic creations.

And, as an extra update – just to make sure you’ve marked all of Ben Harrison’s amazing events and projects on your calendars, Ben’s “TSKW” show will occur happen on February 3rd, 2011, and we will be talking about that in detail for many months to come.

On October 20th, however, the Harrisons will also exhibit, among other stunning works, Vera Vasek’s “Walking Across the Atlantic.” This sculpture is from an ongoing tidal series that capture the ever-shifting sand of the back-country in what she calls, “Tidal Reliefs.” Vera’s creations begin as a collaboration with the weather and the fluctuating tidal flow.  The plaster impressions that she makes from various sandbars not only document the movement of water, they evolve into something far more epic. This particular piece, among others being shown, will truly inspire the guest as they not only talk art, but also discuss the incredible books that they will run home to their computers, get on Amazon, and buy immediately.

The 21st Century is not very old, yet it has already given to all of us a true ‘overachiever’ who is a remarkable author!  And I, as a writer, am proud to announce CHARLIE JONES and Undying Love to the world!  Get them now!

Until Next Time, Everybody!
