Please join us for a joint meeting with the Florida Green Building Coalition.  This week’s topic “WATER IN A SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY” will be presented by Deirdre Irwin of the St Johns River Water Management District, Thursday, October 20th at 4pm.

Deirdre Irwin is the St Johns River Water Management District coordinator for the Florida Water Star program. In this presentation she will cover many aspects of how to design, build or retrofit a community to maximize water efficiency. Criteria from the Florida Water Star program will be explained in addition to broader concepts that relate to long-term landscape Best Management Practices.

The Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC) has long been a leader in climate-specific green building standards and certifications. To date, more than 3,100 homes have been certified across the state, making the program the most successful in Florida. With folks from many walks of life following a greener path, the FGBC has created regions for networking people and ideas.  The NE Florida region (Duval, St. Johns and Flagler counties) is managed by Jeannette Moore and Deirdre Irwin, both members of the FGBC and the Board of Directors, who will be holding quarterly events throughout the region.  Mss. Moore and Irwin will both be on hand to introduce you to FGBC. 

The St. Johns County Energy Efficiency Education Series is a free eventheld weekly through April 2012 at the wind mitigation building at theUniversity of Florida IFAS Extension located at 3111 Agricultural, Center Drive, St. Augustine, FL 32092. The sessions are from 4pm to 5pm on Thursdays.

    I wonder if there is a way to promote our 100% recyclable and environmentally friendly building system and Green Energy Star Rated insulation roofing and wall coatings through your organization?

    Also do you hold any meetings in the Orlando Fl. area?
