The Country Music Storyteller Has Arrived!
Hello readers! Last week was very exciting because I was able to introduce all of you out there to a new singer who is in the ‘studio’ finishing up her debut album. This was no ordinary ‘introduction’ to simply let you know that there will be another ‘new voice’ in country music. No. This article was to ‘introduce’ you to the fact that this singer will be THE new voice in, and of, country music. I have a great feeling, ladies and gentlemen, that we are about to see singers come out of the woodwork who will try their absolute best to imitate or duplicate this amazing woman…but they are so NOT going to even come close to achieving her talent!
Taria is the singer of which I speak. No, she isn’t new, per se. As I spoke to all of you about the first time around, Taria has been a facet of country music since she was a teenager. In fact, at fifteen, Taria made her debut at the “Grand Ole’ Opry.” (I know, I received many responses about that statement. And I, too, was barely able to learn how to wear the make-up properly at that age.) But this outstanding singer seems to have come out of the womb destined for the Country Music Hall of Fame. And I am NOT exaggerating.
Yes, Taria has found herself performing on the stage at the Nashville Palace; and she also worked with Columbia recording artist, Vern Gosdin, who was called ‘The Voice’ by one and all. I made a point in my last article that, although Gosdin was ‘The Voice,’ I’m beginning to believe he picked the right young lady long ago to sing with him, because he is ABOUT to pass the mantle on to her. Mark my words, it will not be long before Taria is ‘The Voice,’ and selling out venues across the country!
I took my time this past week and really studied every video and song I could find from Taria on the internet. And I have to give her one of the biggest compliments I can think of – I memorized every single line because her songs were THAT good! I spent a great deal of time with the video, Everytime. I know what you’re thinking, but this is not your standard romance “heart-breaking” song from a country musician. When Taria sings, I actually feel as if she’s singing to someone. The passion, drive, and power comes out in every note, as if that one man somewhere out there is the receiver of a powerful lightning-strike of pure and very real love.
Perhaps it is the soul. Many singers, as we all know, sing the lyrics. They strum their guitars, they hit all the right notes, and they receive applause. What they don’t do is make the audience feel as if they really truly believe in what they’re singing about. With Taria, you can feel a roller-coaster spectrum of emotions when she delivers her lines. From being in love, to an actual fear that resonates in her tone of losing that love – Taria’s voice sounds as if every part of her is telling a story to her audience.
This incredible storyteller was most likely born with the fantastic voice, but to become a storyteller you must live and experience all aspects of life – good and bad – and Taria makes each and every one of her fans KNOW that she is singing about something very close to the heart. Therefore, she is not singing a song – she is telling the ultimate story.
I then heard the exact same range of passion when Taria gave a stunning tribute to Patsy Cline by singing her magnificent song, “If You’ve Got Leavin’ on Your Mind.” I was actually startled by just how real this lady sounds. I know, that comes out as not a nice thing to say, but it really is! Many music lovers have been disappointed over the past decade with certain bands becoming rather famous and then losing the ‘gift’ that got them there in the first place – the gift of storytelling. Taria is one who has strived and, quite obviously, succeeded in making her voice into the perfect instrument. But at the same time, she’s held on to the incredible ‘gift’ of being able to engage and enrapture an audience as she is delivering those perfect notes. THAT is a miracle of sorts. And, believe me, Patsy Cline would’ve been proud that Taria did such incredible justice to her song!
She has toured the country and performed in clubs all across the land, and each time Taria has proven to a brand new audience that she is ‘The Voice,’ and that Voice is about to become a real, true, and utter star!
It is unfair not to allow you all to hear Taria’s new album but, what can I say, life is unfair right now. This lady is in the studio making sure that every song is absolutely perfect so that readers like you and me can experience a first-class CD (which, quite frankly, we haven’t experienced in a while). Taria is going to take country music to a whole new level, a lot like the pioneers that came before her who ended up to be legends.
I do want to give a brief re-mention to the amazing event that Taria was a part of that I feel all music lovers and big-hearted people should get involved with. CITY OF DREAMS is the project I mentioned the first time around that occurred in 2010, when Nashville and the State of Tennessee experienced historical flooding that took many lives and left behind horrific destruction in its wake. Performers and artists gave their time, energy, and talent to raise money to help bring Tennessee back from this monumental disaster. And Taria was one of those incredible people. I believe each and every one of you should check out CITY OF DREAMS on the internet and make sure to read about all the fantastic things that came from this amazing song.
Not to mention, if you took my advice (which you always should), many or all of you have headed to www.TARIA.com to begin listening, viewing, and memorizing the songs of this future Hall of Fame musician.
The absolute best news is that soon, Taria will deliver a CD that will have the whole world extremely thankful that this fifteen-year-old never decided to switch careers.
Stay Tuned!
Until Next Time, Everybody!
