Jefferson Starship featuring Paul Kantner & David Freiberg To Perform in St. Augustine
Jefferson Starship’s 40th Anniversary Tour will feature original members Paul Kantner & David Freiberg. Other band members include Cathy Richardson who portrayed Janis Joplin in the Off?Broadway show “Love, Janis”. Other members include Chris Smith, Slick Aguilar, & Donny Baldwin.
Every member of audience will receive a Free soundboard download with the purchase of a ticket.
Combining elements of Jefferson Starship was among the most successful arena rock bands of the 1970s and early ’80s, an even greater commercial entity than its predecessor, Jefferson Airplane, the band out of which it evolved. Many Jefferson Airplane fans decried the group’s new, more mainstream musical direction, especially after Airplane singers Grace Slick and Marty Balin departed in 1978. But with shifting personnel, Jefferson Starship managed to please its new fans and some old ones over a period of a decade before it shifted gears into even more overtly pop territory.
Set list will include “Somebody to Love”, “Wooden Ships”, “White Rabbit”, “Volunteers”, “Lather”, “Today”, “Jane”, “Miracles”, “Hyperdrive”, “Count on Me”, “Ride the Tiger”, & “Fast Buck Freddy”
WHEN: Friday, May 13, 2011, Gates open at 6:00pm, Show starts at 7:00 pm
TICKET PRICES: VIP tickets are $55.00 and include a seat in the first 4 rows, early entrance with sound check access and a private Q & A session after the show with the artist.
