On Saturday, January 15, 2011, at 10:15 a.m., in the Main Library located at 1960 N. Ponce de Leon Blvd. St. Augustine, the Florida Writers-Ancient City Chapter will welcome Barnes and Nobles digital publishing expert, Brad West.
Into the Heart of eBooks: Eliminating Existing Barriers for Authors is the program that Brad will present to the group. His expertise, and more than 15 years of commercial experience, is in marketing, advertising, operations, and website design and maintenance. His knowledge of the digital publishing business has been a plus for Barnes and Nobles as they launch their publishing division PUBIT, and grab a large portion of the market share with their eReader, the Nook.
Learn about the eBook format and how B&N’s eBook store can eliminate barriers for authors that are a result of the traditional publishing and bookselling industry models. What types of books work best for eBooks? What about price? How much can an author make? How do books get into the hands of readers? What does an author need to do to be published in the digital world?
These questions and questions from the audience will be answered by West during the program. The monthly meeting, offered free of charge by the FWA-Ancient City Chapter in partnership with the Friends of the Main Library, is open to writers of all genres, fiction and non-fiction.
