THE PIRATE GATHERING

Come ashore in the Nation’s oldest city for the 3rd Annual gathering of pirates from all over the south for a celebration of the Golden Age of Piracy.  See a pirate mutiny, weapons demonstrations, sailor’s encampment, shop in the Thieves Market and hear stories of the high seas, history and sea shanties.  On Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., experience living history at the De Mesa Yard at the Colonial Spanish Quarter on St. George Street. At 3 p.m., the gates to main gate at Francis Filed open. Then from 7 to 11 p.m. the adults-only Historic Pub Crawl starts at the Maiden’s Pub at Francis Field on Castillo Drive at 7 p.m. On Saturday fun activities for the whole family at the Gathering are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Francis Field, on Castillo Drive and the Buccaneer encampment at Colonial Spanish Quarter on St. George Street. At 12:15 p.m., head down to St. Augustine’s Bayfront to observe a Tall Ships battle at sea, followed by a piratical land battle along Orange Street. There’s even a kids pirate costume contest at 3 p.m. The encampment and Gathering are also open Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  and the battle at sea will be repeated at 2:30 p.m. Admission is a buck-an-ear ($2 per person). CELEBRITY CABARET

See 20 great acts featuring the talents of local celebrities when the Limelight Theatre presents its 9th Annual Celebrity Cabaret.  A torch singer, impersonators, a ballerina, singers and an exciting array of group production numbers will insure an amusing and entertaining evening.  Plus, there’s a pre-show dinner party provided by the St. Augustine Independent Restaurant Association, full bar and a fabulous dessert bar from the Marsh Creek Country Club are included in the $75 ticket.  The fun starts Thursday, Friday and Saturday night at 7 p.m. at the Limelight Theatre, 11 Old Mission Avenue in St. Augustine.  For tickets and reservations call 904.825.1164

Ebersol & Braun EXHIBIT AT THE CULTURAL CENTER AT PONTE VEDRA

Be among the first to see this new exhibit featuring the works of Gretchen Ebersol and Paul Braun at the Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach located at 50 ExecutiveWay. The exhibit will be open through December 31. The gallery is open Monday -Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Admission is free. COMPASSION 5K WALK/RUN

Join a Fun to Help Others event sponsored by the Sertoma Medical Professionals. This Compassion 5K has rolling changes in topography that will both begin and end on Shore Blvd and Santa Maria Blvd in the St. Augustine Shores neighborhood.  The entire course is run on a hard-surface, asphalt road.  The course has hills and curves, so be prepared for a challenging, yet exhilarating 5K run! A Prairie Home Companion Live from THE St. Augustine Amphitheatre

Join host, Garrison Keillor for a fun-filled evening of music, storytelling and more during the live broadcast of A Prairie Home Companion, one of America’s most celebrated Radio shows. The show will be broadcast live from the St. Augustine Amphitheatre, 1340 A1A South in St. Augustine. WORLD GOLF HALL OF FAME FALL PUTTING CLASSIC

Golfers are invited to participate in the inaugural Fall Putting Classic Nov. 13-14 for a chance to win more than $3,000 in prizes. Qualifying rounds will begin Saturday, Nov. 13 followed by a complimentary reception at the Hall of Fame’s Challenge Hole where Sunday qualifiers will be announced and teams will have a chance at a closest-to-the-pin contest. The registration fee for this event is $35 per person which includes greens fee, a goody bag and entry to the reception. The field will be limited to 72 teams. Plus, active duty, reserve and retired military personnel receive free admission to the World Golf Hall of Fame and a round of golf on the putting course — simply download the free admission form from the website. EMMA CONCERT SERIES: STATE STREET BALLET “CINDERELLA”

Enjoy this vibrantand innovative dance troop State Street Ballet’s rendition of Cinderella. The performance will take place at 2 p.m. at the Flagler College Auditorium, located at 14 Granada Street in St. Augustine.  Tickets are $30. TIM RIPPEY IN CONCERT

Highly-acclaimed vocalist will perform from 1-4 p.m. at Washington Oaks State Park.  The concert benefits the Fund for Improvement at the park.  Rippey, who is famous for his re-creation of Broadway roles, has performed throughout the East Coast.  Beverages and appetizers will be available and a wine tasting will begin at 1 p.m.  Tickets are $15 each and may be purchased by calling 386.445.1764.



NOTE: St. Johns County residents with a valid ID are always admitted free of charge to Government House Museum, the Lightner Museum, the Colonial Spanish Quarter Museum, the Fountain of Youth (special events excluded), the Ximenez-Fatio House, the Oldest Wooden Schoolhouse, and the Spanish Military Hospital Museum. The daily tours and wine tastings at the San Sebastian Winery are free to everyone. Also, admission is free to everyone at the Authentic Old Drug Store, Fort Matanzas National Monument, St. Photios Chapel, the Pena-Peck House, the Father Miguel O’Reilly Museum and the Mission Nombre de Dios Museum (donations are welcomed).
