(Jacksonville, FL) Guitar legends Dave Mason, a founder of the legendary English rock band Traffic, and Kal David will perform at The Florida Theatre, 128 East Forsyth Street, Jacksonville, FL for an unforgettable evening of classic rock & blues on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 7:30 pm to benefit Work Vessels for Veterans (WVFV), a national charitable organization providing equipment and support for military veterans returning to civilian careers. Dave Mason has become a national advocate for WVFV and sits on its Board of Directors.

Mason’s career spans over 37 years and has encompassed producing, performing and song writing. At age 18, the Worcester England native teamed up with Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi and Chris Wood to form the legendary band Traffic. At 19, Mason penned the song “Feelin’ Alright”, a rock and roll anthem recorded by well over 48 artists, the best known version being by Joe Cocker.

Mason departed from the group after their second album. In 1969 Dave headed for the USA to pursue a solo career. He struck gold with the album “Alone Together”, which is considered a rock classic. This was followed by five albums for CBS/Sony, four of which received gold albums, and his classic “We Just Disagree”, becoming a top-ten single.

In addition to performing to sold-out audiences, Mason performed on a number of albums such as The Rolling Stones’ “Beggars’ Banquet”, George Harrison’s “All Things Must Pass”, Paul McCartney’s “Listen To What The Man Said” and Jimi Hendrix’s “Electric Ladyland”.

In October of 1993, Dave Mason formally joined the legendary group Fleetwood Mac and spent two years touring with them around the world. Mason and his band currently play over 200 concerts a year throughout the nation. Mason was inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004. Dave’s latest release “26 Letters – 12 Notes” is available at Amazon.com.

Dave Mason will be sharing the bill with Kal David and the Real Deal, featuring Lauri Bono.
