Join in a lovely evening of decadent chocolate and other delights! This year’s Gala theme is An Evening in Camelot. Medieval costumes are optional, but encouraged. Enjoy sampling chocolate delights from hors d’oeuvres to desserts by local restaurants and shops. The evening will include live and silent auctions and a raffle. The Chocolate Gala takes place at the First Coast Technical College, 2980 Collins Ave., St. Augustine, from 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $20. Sunday: February 22HAITIAN ARTIST BOOK SIGNING
Haitian-American artist Alexandra Barbot, illustrator of the children’s book, “Mommy,” Tell Me About Haiti” will donate 10% of the sales from her book signing at Barnes and Nobles in St. Augustine to disaster relief efforts in Haiti. She will also donate 40% of the sales of her artwork to Haiti relief. In addition to her artistic achievements, Ms. Barbot is well known for her involvements in the Haitian-American Historical Society especially with regard to raising awareness of Haitian contributions to the American Revolution and for her portrait of St. Augustine’s black general Jorge Biassou. The book signing will take place from 2-4 p.m. For more information, call her at 786.597.6100.

NOTE:St. Johns County residents with a valid ID are always admitted free of charge to Government House Museum, the Lightner Museum, the Colonial Spanish Quarter Museum, the Fountain of Youth (special events excluded), the Ximenez-Fatio House, the Oldest Wooden Schoolhouse, the Spanish Military Hospital Museum and the Father Miguel O’Reilly Museum. The daily tours and wine tastings at the San Sebastian Winery are free to everyone. Also, admission is free to everyone at the Authentic Old Drug Store, Fort Matanzas National Monument, St. Photios Chapel, the Pena-Peck House and the Father Miguel O’Reilly Museum.
