Lucky Couple Celebrates Celebrity Destination Wedding at The Inn

Antigua, West Indies – June is the “Month of Romance” in Antigua – also known as the Heart of the Caribbean – and one starry-eyed couple from Atlanta exchanged their wedding vows with a luxurious celebrity destination wedding held among the beautiful woodlands and natural white-sand Caribbean beaches at The Inn of English Harbour. Adrienne Scales and Myreon Smith won the exclusive wedding package as part of a sweepstakes sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism and other key industry stakeholders.

At the Inn, destination weddings in a Caribbean paradise become pure nuptial bliss. Surrounded by colonial charm made even more beguiling by a recent $1.5 million renovation, the Inn at English Harbour features beautiful gardens, an open terrace with stunning views over English Harbour, a superb sandy white beach and smiling, exceptional service. One of the most picturesque parts of Antigua, marked by the passage of naval hero Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson, English Harbour provides an alluring blend of history and charm, a relaxed and natural atmosphere in one of the most unique locations in the West Indies.  Yet just two minutes by water taxi reside the restaurants and nightlife of bustling English Harbour. Now more than ever, the historic charm of the resort’s colonial design converges harmoniously with modern-age conveniences and the natural splendor of Antigua to present a uniquely 21st-century take on paradise.

This year’s 2009 Celebrity Destination Wedding featured special guest Indashio, a 23 year old fashion designer, magazine editor, celebrity stylist and entrepreneur, who won the first series of the VHI reality show “Glam God.” The eight-episode reality series hosted by film and television superstar, Vivica A Fox, was designed to find the next hot celebrity stylist who has what it takes to be a visionary in fashion trends, and can raise the bar in Celebrity style.

The wedding attire was provided by the internationally acclaimed fashion line, Demetrios’ Brides and wedding bands by Colombian Emeralds. The Inn’s sous chef provided the wedding cake, and other local providers also participated: Photography by Photo Fantasy, Flowers by Exotic Flowers, Hair and Make-up by Mingles.

From intimate affairs for two to larger gatherings with family and friends, the Inn can help you create your customized dream wedding, overlooking no details. Its Wedding Package features a guaranteed upgrade to a luxurious suite for the bride and groom when booking a Cabana; a champagne breakfast for the wedding couple, served on the balcony the morning after the wedding; all registration and legal fees (excluding transportation to town); one-tier Caribbean fruit wedding cake, decorated in your colors; ceremonial flowers for the bride and groom. Planning your wedding closer to home? The Inn also has a package available for newly married couples their honeymoon.

The Buccaneer St. Croix has wonderful packages for marriages, honeymoons and more. Visit http://www.thebuccaneer.com for more information.

Look what recent guests had to say about their fabulous weddings at The Buccaneer St. Croix:

    “Best Wedding Experience Ever”

“My daughter got married at the Buccaneer 2 weeks ago. The hotel and location are absolutely beautiful, and the service is outstanding. The wedding coordinators, Carolyn and Corrine, took care of everything right down to producing towels to get wet sand off of the guests’ feet after the (brief) rainshower just before the ceremony on the beach. As mom-of-bride, I got to enjoy everything without having to worry about making sure that it all came together. Destination weddings are the way to go, and the Buccaneer is the perfect place!”

    “A Fabulous Family Destination Wedding”

Last July my son and his sweet girlfriend became engaged and asked for help finding a destination for their wedding. We all searched and kept ending back at The Buccaneer on St Croix. Wedding coordinator/package, things to do, beaches, convenience, price and reviews all paid a major part in the couples final decision. The Carambola looked very pretty, but we had some concerns about some previous reviews. Anyway…the decision was made and I fretted over it until we got their. All year I was concerned that maybe I caused them to choose it and it would not be a good venue. A large group of 56 adults and 3 children booked…maybe 5 or so booked elsewhere on the island. Anyway, from the moment we got there until we sadly left, we had a fabulous time. The first day (we arrived at about 4pm)was the Welcome party with cocktails, food, steel pan music and mocko jumbie dancers….followed by a great meal at The Terrace. The second day, we explored the resort, had spa services, went on a sunset cruise in the evning with Caribbeaan Sea Adventures (see review), ate dinner at Savant, then ended the night at The Divi Carina Casino. The third day, many saw Buck Island followed by the Rehearsal Dinner which took place on The Buccaneer grounds at The Mermaid open air restaurant. Dennis G was the food and beverage guy that I dealt with and he was awesome (experienced and kind). Finally, on Friday was more spa services then the most beautiful wedding you’ve ever seen… on the beach, followed by a wonderful reception at The Brass Parrot. Saturday morning was a champagne breakfast, sunning and sightseeing…then dinner at Tutto Bene (delicious) Then on Sunday we hung around until 1 o’clock ..then off to the airport. The wedding coordinator (Carolyn) was fabulous. The night of the wedding, at the reception, my daughter-in-law told me that the whole thing exceeded her dreams! The staff at The Buccaneer go above and beyond.. The rooms were all wonderful, well appointed and very clean. Each morning was a huge buffet with all you can imagine at The Terrace and the Terrace was also great for music and cocktails. The Terrace provides gorgeous views and tradewinds all day long! The other nights were either wedding functions or great restaurants. The beaches at The Buccaneer are great and lined with palm trees. Though the larger of the two pools is prettier and near the beach, the young people from the wedding hung out at the smaller of the two pools for privacy at night. My mom, who can’t walk the elevations at the resort was encouraged to call for a ride and they were there for pick-ups immediately. The spa services were excellent also. Delicious Vintage Cocktails .. along with a few of our favorites…The Grotto Iguana, Rum Runner and the Pain Killer made our week even better! If you are considering The Buccaneer for your wedding, I would be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. My email is Trip Advisor was so helpful in choosing the PERFECT RESORT!
