WILLIE NELSON AND FAMILY & ALISON KRAUSS AND UNION STATION

FEATURING JERRY DOUGLAS

ANNOUNCE CO-HEADLINING CONCERT IN SAINT AUGUSTINE

Music legends and Grammy Award winning artists Willie Nelson and Alison Krauss & Union Station Featuring Jerry Douglas will be touring together throughout the spring and summer. The 35 city U.S. tour will make a stop at the Saint Augustine Amphitheatre in Saint Augustine, Florida on May 6, 2014. The Devil Makes Three will also be appearing.

The tour will mark the first time that Willie Nelson and Family & Alison Krauss and Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas have shared the stage together. The two groups’ unique personalities combined with impeccable Willie Nelsonmusicianship and decades of award-winning songs are sure to create a show full of unforgettable moments.

With a six-decade career and 200 plus albums, Willie Nelson is the creative genius behind the historic recordings of “Crazy”, “Red Headed Stranger” and “Stardust.” He has earned every conceivable award as a musician and amassed reputable credentials as an author, actor and activist.  Heroes, his 2012 release and first album for Legacy Recordings, spent five weeks at #1 on the Americana Radio Chart. His book, Roll Me Up And Smoke Me When I Die, landed in the Top 10 on The New York Times’ best-seller list.  In 2013, Willie’s albums included April’s Let’s Face The Music And Dance, an album of deep pop country repertoire classics performed with transformative patented ease by Nelson and Family, his long-time touring and recording ensemble; and October’s To All The Girls… which features 18 duets with music’s top female singers including Dolly Parton, Mavis Staples, Sheryl Crow, Loretta Lynn, Wynonna Judd, Rosanne Cash, Alison Krauss, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, Emmylou Harris, Norah Jones, and Shelby Lynne.

Alison Krauss is a virtuoso who effortlessly bridges the gap between roots music and country, rock and pop.  Since Alison_Krauss_2011signing with Rounder Records at the age of 14, Krauss has sold over 12 million albums and won 27 Grammy Awards, the most for any female and the second most of any recording artist in Grammy history. Paper Airplane is the latest masterpiece in Krauss’ illustrious career.  Recorded in partnership with her remarkably skillful and renowned band, Union Station, the album debuted at #1 on the Billboard Country, Bluegrass and Folk Album Charts upon its release.  Union Station – Jerry Douglas (dobro, lap steel, vocals), Dan Tyminski (guitar, mandolin, lead vocal), Ron Block (banjo, guitar) and Barry Bales (bass, vocals), with Krauss on lead vocal and fiddle – are five distinct personalities who come together to form something truly unique as a band.  Each bandmate has his own bustling career, but when these singular musicians come together, they’re an airtight unit devoted to the process of making music together.  Indeed, their connection is so close and deep that they’ve come to think of each other as family.

Joining them on this stop of the tour will be The Devil Makes Three.  The Devil Makes Three’s travels and travails serve as inspiration for their fourth album and their New West Records debut, I’m a Stranger Here, produced by Buddy Miller and recorded at Dan Auerbach’s (Black Keys) Easy Eye Sound Studio in Nashville.  With a slightly punky perspective on vintage American blues, The Devil Makes Three is a breath of fresh musical air.  Laced with elements of ragtime, country, folk and rockabilly, the critically praised trio brings forth a genuine approach to acoustic music that is deeply steeped in rhythm.

Tickets will go on sale this Friday, February 28 at 10am at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre and Ponte Vedra Concert Hall box offices. The Day After the Day Of

The Day After the Day Of by Paul Ilechko   The sky sheds its tears. This morning is the morning of the day after. The day of mourning, the day after the day of.  I beseech the sky to shed tears in order to wash away the tears on my face.   This is the first day of the time after. This is the beginning of a new time, the days of pain, the days of sorrow. We are in mourning. The sky looks down and sheds its tears for … [Read More its Good For You...]

History Being Sold to the Highest Bidder

History Being Sold to the Highest Bidder by Amy Lignor   For the longest time, scientists and archaeologists have been confused and bemused by various discoveries they’ve unearthed that offer little or no explanation as to the who, what, and why of the people who created these things or left them behind. Even now, in 2017, there are discoveries being studied; stories that were once legends now have actual bits of proof being found that … [Read More its Good for You.....]

Carolina Skiff at Miami’s Favorite Boat Show

Carolina Skiff at Miami's Favorite Boat Show By Craig Lamb You might say “new” is a reoccurring theme of Miami’s favorite boat show coming up soon. A new location with hundreds of new boats, including never-before-seen models being debuted by Carolina Skiff, is a great way to kick off the season. Few boat shows offer buyers the chance to see new boats where they ultimately belong—floating on the water in a real time setting. You can … [Read More its Good for You...]

Can Troy Aikman Win MVP?

Can Troy Aikman Win MVP? by Amy Lignor   What a strange title for an article, aye? Of course the ‘old man’ of the Dallas Cowboys can’t win MVP. Troy Aikman was an elite QB, with three Super Bowl rings to prove that fact. However, Aikman hasn’t actually suited-up since leaving behind his Cowboys uniform in 2001. The number one overall draft pick in 1989, Aikman was the MVP of Super Bowl XXVII, and was elected to the Pro Football … [Read More its Good for You...]

The Grandest New Year’s Celebrations Around the World

The Grandest New Year’s Celebrations Around the World by Amy Lignor   Oh, yes…there are many, many places to travel in order to ring in that New Year in style. Some people have already stated that they see 2017 becoming one of the ‘best of the best’ years the world has ever seen – from technology to business to education to even “going greener” – heck, green has even been chosen as the top color of 2017. But where should you … [Read More its Good for You...]

2017 Will Be Green!

2017 Will Be Green! by Amy Lignor   This statement is not a “hopeful” imagination talking; it is actually quite true. Very recently the Pantone Color Institute declared that green will most definitely be THE color for 2017. This is a company that calls themselves the “global color authority,” and states that everything from high fashion to trends will be on the green path throughout next year. So…when we look at a “green” … [Read More its Good for You...]
