by Alfredo Zotti
Pizza BaseVegetarian  Pizza

  • For the pizza base, you will need:
  • Approximately 7g sachet of dry yeast
  • 1 cup of water (just a normal tea cup)
  • 2 and ½ cups of flour
  • A pinch or about ½ teaspoon of sugar

Procedure

Mix the yeast in the water and add the sugar;

Introduce one cup of flour and mix well, possibly in a stainless steel concave bowl.

Add another cup of flour and continue to mix with a fork.

Now the mixture should get more uniform.

Add the remaining ½ cup of flour and work the dough with your hands.

Make a round ball with the dough and let it rest for an hour; once it has risen, work it again to let the air out and let it rest for another half hour. In time, the dough will be ready. With a rolling pin, flatten the dough and remember that you need some flour on the bench to ensure that the dough does not stick while you are flattening it.

Place the pizza base in a oven try and put aside.

Vegan Mozzarella

For information on how to prepare vegan mozzarella please visit the following website http://www.artisanveganlife.com/a-better-buffalo-mozzarella/

Preparing the Pizza

Cut five ripe cherry tomatoes each in about four flat pieces and place them on the pizza base.

Add four small and sliced button mushrooms on top.

Slice half an onion, and cut it in thin strips, and place it around and on top of the tomatoes;

Cut four green olives, stuffed with red peppers, in flat pieces, like the tomatoes, and place them on and around the tomatoes and onions, on the pizza base.

Sprinkle a bit of sea salt on the pizza and then top up with the vegan mozzarella, breaking the mozzarella in small pieces or simply slice it with a sharp knife and put it on top of the ingredients on the pizza base.

Cook in the oven till golden brown around the edges, ensuring that you don’t cook it too much, or burn it. How long it takes depends on the kind of oven you use. A fan-forced oven will take about half an hour to forty minutes.

We Are Still…All in This Together!

  We Are Still…All in This Together! by Amy Lignor   December 7, 1941. Sunday morning was lovely on the Hawaiian island of Oahu.
