Open Championship Week at the Hall of Fame
Visit the Hall of Fame during The Open Championship weekend (British Open) and enjoy learning about Hall of Fame Members who are Open Champions. There will be a special photo opportunity with artifacts. The broadcast will be shown throughout the museum during the week. This weekend, all residents of the United Kingdom and Ireland receive free admission with ID. Arts & Culture Series: Photography Workshop
Hosted by Marineland Dolphin Adventure and Ocean Art Gallery, this three-hour photography workshop at Marineland Dolphin Adventure is taught by Ed Siarkowicz, award-winning photographer, from 9 a.m.-noon. Photographers of all levels will have the opportunity to learn different photography skills as well as learn about photo editing programs. Participants will take photos of Marineland and the nearby area. The cost is $99, and registration is available by phone. Music by the Sea Concert
Celebrating its 15th anniversary, this free weekly concert series at the St. Johns County Pier features a wide variety of musical genres from 7-9 p.m. Bring a beach chair or blanket along with a favorite beverage and get ready to dance. Starting at 6 p.m., dinner is offered as an option for concert goers. All dinners are priced at $10 or less. This week’s performance is by Grapes of Roth, and the featured restaurant is Red Frog & McToads. Summer Movie Series
Ripley’s Believe It or Not! and the Colonial Quarter have teamed up to provide the free Summer Movie Series at the Colonial Oak Music Park. This week’s movie, which begins at 8:30 p.m., is Monster Trucks. Free transportation is provided by Ripley’s Red Trains from the parking garage and Ripley’s stops to the St. George Street stop. The shuttle service runs every 15 minutes from 7:30-8:30 p.m. and resumes after the movie. Nature and Wildlife Exhibition
Hosted by the St. Augustine Art Association, this gallery-wide exhibition features nature-inspired works from artists near and far. More than 125 original works of art depicting the diversity and surprising wonders of nature were selected for the juried exhibit from more than 400 online entries submitted by artists from across the United States and abroad. The exhibition, on display through August 27, is free and open to the public. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Plants
Join the Lightner Museum for an illuminating presentation on floral arranging by Garden Club of St. Augustine members, Cathy Snyder and Marilyn Smith, from 4-6 p.m. Snyder and Smith are passionate about flowers. They have joined forces to travel the area, demonstrating creative and unique uses of flowers, fruits and vegetables for elegant home and entertaining displays. The event will focus primarily on the decorative aesthetics from the late 19th to early 20th centuries that evoke the lifestyle of the English country manor.
