Dressing Downton: Changing Fashions for Changing Times Exhibition
Immerse yourself in fashion and history in this highly anticipated exhibition at the Lightner Museum. Dressing Downton™, a 13-week display of 36 authentic Victorian Era costumes and accessories from PBS’s most popular television drama in history, Downton Abbey®, will be elegantly displayed in the museum’s Grand Ballroom Gallery. The museum is open Sunday through Thursday from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for college students and seniors, $10 for 12-17-year-olds, and free for youth under age 12. The ticket cost includes entry to the museum. There will be special Upstairs/Downstairs Tours and Afternoon Teas that take place daily during the exhibition. High Tea at Cafe Alcazar
Immerse yourself with the full experience of the Dressing Downton exhibition with a special tea in the Cafe Alcazar located in the historic pool area of the Lightner Museum. The high teas will include sweet and savory items reminiscent of Gilded Age high style.  Through January 7 teas will be at 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 2 p.m. Friday-Saturday. Upstairs/Downstairs at the Alcazar Tours
The history of the Lightner Museum as well as its former splendor as the Alcazar Hotel shows many parallels to the time period and lives of the characters of the popular television series Downton Abbey®. This is a guided tour to areas of the museum typically closed to the public where participants will learn what life was like for both guests and staff who visited and worked at the Alcazar Hotel during the Gilded Age in St. Augustine. The tour lasts one hour and is in addition to the Dressing Downton exhibition and continues through January 7. Tickets are $45 per person and can be purchased through the website. Secrets of Spanish Florida: A Secrets of the Dead Special Screening
WJCT and Flagler College will hold a preview of Secrets of Spanish Florida: A Secrets of the Dead Special as well as a discussion about why this history is so important for everyone to know. The event will be held in the Virginia Room at Flagler College’s Ringhaver Student Center. The film uncovers the story of St. Augustine, the first permanent European settlement in the United States. Crisp-Ellert Art Museum Talk
As part of the Flagler College Art and Design Department Faculty Exhibition at the Crisp-Ellert Art Museum through December 2, the artists of works displayed in the exhibition will give a talk on select dates throughout November. Villa Zorayda Candlelight Tour

Join Villa Zorayda this holiday season for its 8th annual Candlelight Tour, which is offered on select evenings during St. Augustine’s Nights of Lights. The museum is beautifully decorated for the holidays with a spectacular Christmas tree decorated in the colors of the Zorayda, red and gold. More than 100 candles are aglow throughout the museum. The tour is at 6 p.m. General admission is $16. Admission for youth ages 7-12 is $7 and admission is free for youth ages 4-6. The tour is not recommended for youth ages 3 and under. Laura Lee Smith’s New Novel Pre-Release Event
St. Augustine writer Laura Lee Smith’s second novel, The Ice House, will be released by Grove Press on December 5. The book, partly inspired by the iconic Riberia Street building that now houses The St. Augustine Distillery and The Ice Plant, tells the story of a man on the verge of losing his livelihood and of losing forever his relationship with his only son. At 6 p.m., Smith will host a pre-release event at The St. Augustine Distillery. The Ice House will be available for purchase nearly a week before its official release. Smith will sign copies and will speak briefly about the book’s development. Light refreshments will be served. Tidings of Jazz and Joy Tour at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall

Flagler College’s Senior Conservatory

Coney Island Christmas
Pulitzer Prize-winner Donald Margulies weaves together nostalgia, music and merriment in this holiday show for people of all ages and all faiths. Coney Island Christmas introduces us to Shirley Abramowitz, a young Jewish girl who (much to her immigrant parents’ exasperation) is cast as Jesus in the school’s Christmas pageant. Performance times are 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday through December 23. There is a preview day on November 30. Castillo by Candlelight: Enemy at the Gates
Castillo de San Marcos National Monument will host special evening tours with a special look into the Siege of 1740.  St. Augustine Garrison and Colonial Nightwatch, staff and volunteers in 18th century period clothing will tell the stories of St. Augustine on the brink of its destiny. Visitors will experience the evening before the Fort Mose counterattack and learn about life in the town during the siege as the cannons fire away at the British on Anastasia Island. Cannons fire multiple times between 6:45-9 p.m. Each of the six nighttime candlelit living history tours last 45 minutes. Tours depart from the ticket both at 6:45 p.m., 7 p.m., 7:15 p.m., 7:30 p.m., 7:45 p.m. and 8 p.m. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for youth ages 5-15 and free for youth under age 5. The Cultural Center at Ponte Vedra Beach introduces the Ponte Vedra Artisan Market, a pop-up shop exclusively dedicated to promote and sell wearable items designed and crafted by artists. The center’s curatorial committee will hand select wearable art that is original in concept, design and execution. GTM Research Reserve Guided Exploration Hike
The first Saturday of each month at 8:30 a.m. take a guided exploration hike that focuses on the Guana Peninsula’s 5,000 years of human history. This 1.5-mile guided walking tour departs from the Trailhead Pavilion located just west of the Guana Dam. The programs are free. Christmas Parade
St. Augustine’s annual Christmas Parade is one of the largest in North Florida. The two-hour parade includes floats, marching bands, cars, horses and the arrival of Santa. The parade starts at 9 a.m. by the Mission Nombre de Dios off San Marco Avenue, continues through the downtown streets of historic St. Augustine and ends near the Historic Downtown Parking Facility located at 1 Cordova St. 904-824-4779
 
Militia Muster and Training at Fort Mose
Visit Fort Mose on the first Saturday each month from 9-11:30 a.m. to be transported back to the 18th century. Learn from the members of the Fort Mose Militia as they practice firing drills and demonstrate how to use historic weapons and show musket firing drills. There is also a children’s militia training that uses wooden toy muskets. The park is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission into the park is free. St. Augustine Colonial Nightwatch
Hosted by Historic Florida Militia St. Augustine Garrison, this event commemorates St. Augustine’s Colonial period from 1739-1784. The Colonial Night Watch/St. Augustine Garrison is providing free admission to the Colonial Quarter, 33 St. George St., on Saturday. Inside the Colonial Quarter, there will be activities throughout the day, including tours, musket firing, demonstrations and a live 18th century encampment. Across the street, the Castillo de San Marcos National Monument, 1 S. Castillo Dr., will be active with 18th century musket and cannon firing during the day. The Pirate Ship Black Raven 
Every Saturday and Sunday through December 24, Santa Claus comes to the Black Raven on the Treasure Hunt trips or he will try, anyway! Before we leave the dock, Santa comes on board with his bag of goodies and sets it down. Right behind him is Captain Hook, who grabs that bag and runs. Join our crew as we set sail to get our bag of treasures back and with all the confusion, rescue Santa from the evil Captain Hook as well. This race takes place at the Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve. The race consists of a 50K and 12K. The 50K individual and team races begin at 8 a.m. The 12K race begins at 1 p.m. The race route is a winding loop throughout the park.
