The Incredibly Talented Men of Man Made!

The Interviews Continue With…Casey Camp!

Readers, over the past few weeks you have met the outstanding members of Man Made: Jason Blankenship, Bradd Poole, and Brian Abson.  This week, we are headed into the life of Casey Camp – yet another member of this fantastic band that will soon take over the radio waves across the globe.

Man Made is a group we’ve been delving into for a few months now, and the response to these incredible performers has been out of this world.  And…SHOULD BE.  This is the band that brought America an album titled, “Starting With You;” and the brilliance of the music, the lyrics, the absolute emotion that was written into each and every song, has put them on the road to success.

Let’s face it, with most musicians it takes a great deal of time to “fall” for them.  The songs need to be rich, fun, entertaining, and they need to be heartfelt.  It is no surprise to say that true music lovers ultimately know the minute that a band doesn’t have their whole hearts invested in their music.  Man Made is so unique, however, that their music literally jumps right out of the speakers and into your soul.

They sing about fun, enjoyment, love, entertainment, and life; the members of Man Made actually seem to have been brought together by fate – or some type of entity ‘up there’ – because they absolutely congeal as a group.  Each one plays off the other, and the immense abilities that each musician and singer bring to the table is monumental.

When a Man Made song begins, the foot taps, the smile is applied to the listener’s face, and the true vibe and feeling come across almost when the first note is struck.  It is mentally amazing that a group can do that.  In fact, when you think about it, throughout history there has been only one or two bands who have had the power to sit in a room together, or take the stage, and become one single, solitary unit.

Man Made has mastered the sound and flow and energy that is NEEDED in the music world today, and they have proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that their pictures, songs, and talent will be remembered for all time.

Mind-Altering was the original statement that I used for Man Made when I first brought them to your attention, and every week there is no other word I can think of that describes Man Made so perfectly.  Intoxicating is one that comes close, but these Georgian wizards are far more than just that;- they are so beyond skilled and talented, that they actually reach into a new realm of music that hasn’t even been explored.

As always, the men of Man Made are extremely gracious on top of being monumentally talented, and they have proven that their love for their fans is absolute. So, yet again, one of these amazing individuals has allowed us a ‘look’ into his daily life, how he began, and what he thinks of his band and their future.

Jason Blankenship, Casey Camp, Bradd Poole, Brian Abson, and Drake Kennedy, are the amazing men behind the music, and this week, Casey Camp is our subject; a man of vision, skill, and true and utter talent.

How did Man Made begin for you?

Jason and I have been jammin’ since grade school. We lost touch after high school, but reconnected though Facebook three years ago and have been rockin’ ever since.

Can you tell fans a bit about what drew you to music and the instrument you play?

I loved the sound of my parents’ records when I was a kid; I remember rocking out to CCR with my dad and listening to Loretta and Dolly with my mom. My mom bought me my first guitar when I was six-years-old, and I learned chords from a Chet Atkins VHS tape. I currently play guitar, keys, harmonica, and mandolin.

What do you personally hope Man Made will bring to the listening public? What are your goals for the band?

I want to bring people together and share what we have to offer; I feel like this band can crossover genres. Our main goal is to create original music that reaches out and grabs the listeners’ ears!

I know Georgia is your home base. Did it help growing up in the South where country and country-rock, bluegrass is a much-beloved genre of music?

I think it did. The South is the birthplace of a lot of good music, and hopefully Man Made will rise to be one of the Georgia ‘greats.’

How do you get prepared before going out ‘live’ to that waiting crowd?

I like to mingle, eat, play on my phone…I am kind of a lone wolf.

Who are some of your own personal icons?

From Elvis, Willie, Cash, Beatles, Bob Dylan; to folks like Jamey Johnson, Eric Church, ZBB, and The Black Crowes…just to name a few

I ask this of every musician and singer because our fans like to know. How do you feel about programs such as American Idol being a catalyst to introducing the next “star?”

Actually, I don’t pay much mind to shows like that.

What is your personal favorite genre of music – rock, bluegrass, country? And, why?

I like good old fashioned rock & roll; it just seems to be an ‘old hat’ for me, because I love the rawness and passion of it.

I would assume you have very supportive families?

I love all of our families; we come from good stock. My wife is so supportive and I love her very much!

Where do you hope Man Made will be in the next year?

I would like to be on tour, making our dreams come true.

Where can people purchase your CD?

All of our merchandise can be purchased at our live shows, and you can download our EP at: reverbnation.com/manmade

Is a new CD currently in the works?

Oh, yes…we are always writing
