Tai-Chi is an ancient Chinese Art that is used for health improvements, disease prevention, and healing of the mind and body. In each class, students will perform soft, deliberate, and continuous movements that will allow them to receive many positive aspects of renewed health while developing internal stillness. Some of the benefits of Tai-Chi include relief from muscular tension and anxiety; increased concentration and memory; enhanced sensory awareness; improved circulation, metabolism, flexibility, and immune functions; increased daily energy level; and improved balance.
Hector M. Ruiz, Jr., a certified instructor in Tai-Chi Chuan (Yang Style) and Qi Gong, has been practicing for more than 20 years. Attendees should wear loose clothing and comfortable shoes. Registration is not required. For more information, please call Ruiz at 904.823.2075 or the Main Library at904.827.6940.
