St. Johns County, FL. – Encourage and support approximately 80 amateur players at the St. Johns Golf Club’s St. Augustine Amateur tournament in St. Johns County on October 18–20 as they compete for the John C. Jennison III Trophy and Golfweek/amateurgolf.com World Amateur Golf Ranking points.
The 54-hole stroke play, walking only, Golfweek/amateurgolf.com Points Rankings event features a field of the top juniors and collegians in the southeast. Spectators wearing proper golf attire can watch 78 players whose golf resumes and tournament experience have earned them a spot in the tournament. Tee times will be scheduled between 9–11 a.m. each day. Admission and parking are free.
A schedule of events, and information about the players, is available by visiting www.staugustineamateur.com. Pairings and tee times will be available closer to the event. The St. Johns Golf Club requests that mobile phones be silenced during the event. Attendees are permitted to bring their own chairs, yet are requested to leave coolers at home. Refreshments will be available for purchase. No carts will be available.
This national event was established in 2004 for better amateur and collegiate players.
