St. Johns County Public Library System Launches SmartPay System

 


St. Johns County, FL. – The St. Johns County Public Library System is pleased to announce a secure, easy, and convenient way for patrons to pay fines or make donations to the library system via debit or credit card by using SmartPay.

With a library card and PIN number comprised of the last four digits of the patron’s phone number, patrons can link to SmartPay fromSt_Johns_County1.png the library webpage (www.sjcpls.org), retrieve details of their library accounts, and select items to securely pay any charges. There is a $3 minimum for credit card payments, and a log-in is not necessary to make a donation. Library fines and fees are cleared automatically from your library account during the payment process.

The St. Johns County Public Library System does not collect or store any personal information or credit or debit card processing data collected from the SmartPay site. The transactions are protected by Secure Socket Layer certification, a protocol for transmitting data securely. SmartPay also complies with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards.

If patrons want to make a payment via credit or debit card while visiting a public library, staff will direct them to a computer, laptop, or iPad to enter their information into SmartPay to process the transaction.
