St. Johns County Public Library System Hosts Anti-bullying,
Summer Reading Program, and Teen-performance Magic Shows

St. Johns County, FL. – The St. Johns County Public Library System hosts Magician Mark Alan who will perform an anti-bullying program aimed to make a difference in the community by teaching what to do if faced by a bully and what to do if St_Johns_County1bullying is witnessed. With his show, “S.T.A.N.D. Against Bullying,” Alan deals with a serious topic in a fun manner using comedy, magic, ventriloquism, musical routines, and lots of interaction to help give kids the tools to take a stand against bullying. This 45-minute program intended for elementary-age children but fun for all ages is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on August 8 at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library and at 3:30 p.m. on August 21 at the Southeast Branch Library.

As a part of the Florida Library Youth Program, Alan will perform his regular show at 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, at the Anastasia Island Branch Library; at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, at the Switzerland Community Church hosted by the Bartram Trail Branch Library; and at 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library. All shows have the same format.

Alan is facilitating a set of children’s magic shows performed by teens at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library at 10:15 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. on Friday, July 26. For more information, visit http://www.sjcpls.org/content/childrens-magic-shows-presented-teens.
