St. Johns County Partners with the Florida Public Archaeology Network
to Offer Cemetery Resource Protection Training Workshop
St. Johns County, FL. – St. Johns County and the Florida Public Archaeology Network (FPAN) invite residents to participate in a Cemetery Resource Protection Training Workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 17 at the St. Francis Barracks, 82 Marine St., St. Augustine. Workshop discussion topics will include cemeteries as historical resources, laws that protect cemeteries, methods for conserving headstones and markers, and practices for managing cemetery landscapes. Participants will also have the opportunity to practice hands-on headstone cleaning at the San Sebastian Cemetery, 710 Pearl St., St. Augustine.
