St. Johns County is offering beach driving passes at pre-season prices of $30 for County residents and $40 for non-residents. Passes are available for purchase at the St. Johns County Pier, Tax Collector’s Offices, and the Recreation and Parks Office. Purchasing a pre-season beach driving pass is a great way to enjoy the many opportunities available for beach recreation in St. Johns County including driving access to more than 14 miles of beautiful beach coastline. Beginning March 2, 2013 pass prices will increase by $10.
Residents and the public are also encouraged to enjoy the remainder of free beach driving season through February 28. St. Johns County offers nine vehicular access points and beach driving ramps and eight beachfront parks, including the St. Augustine Pier which offers year-round free parking and beach access. These sites also host a variety of programs and events with facilities that may be reserved for public or private events through the St. Johns County Beach Services Office.
Paid parking and access to the beach are also available at Anastasia State Park and the Guana Tolomato Matanzas Reserve. These sites offer an array of services in addition to beach access.
