v Recognitions

? The Board recognized the St. Johns County Utility Department’s recent American Water Works Association Award for St_Johns_County1Florida’s Region II Annual Best Drinking Water

? The Board recognized the St. Johns County GIS Division on their recent GIS Award for the Best Web-based Application at the 2013 ESRI Southeast User Conference

 

v Regular Agenda Item One – JAXUSA Regional Partnership for Economic Development

 

Jerry Mallot, president of the JAXUSA Partnership, who presented information on regional economic development programs and activities.

v Regular Agenda Item Two – Interlocal Agreement between the City of St. Augustine and St. Johns County

 

Glenn Hastings, St. Johns County Tourist Development Council Executive Director, presented a proposed Interlocal Agreement between St. Johns County and the City of St. Augustine for advisory services in planning the Mumford and Sons’ Gentlemen of the Road St. Augustine Stopover event set for September 13 and 14. The Board voted to approve the agreement by which the City will pay the County after advisory services are provided by the County’s Cultural Events Division.

v Regular Agenda Item Three – Request to Provide Funding to the City of St. Augustine

 

Glenn Hastings, Executive Director of the St. Johns County Tourist Development Council, and John Regan, City of St. Augustine City Manager, presented a request by the City of St. Augustine for funds from the County’s Tourist Development Council Arts, Culture & Heritage budget. The City intends to use the funds for shuttle-bus service during the upcoming Mumford and Sons Gentlemen of the Road St. Augustine Stopover. The Board voted to approve the requested funding.

v Regular Agenda Item Four – Ordinance Creating Treasure Beach Canal MSBU and Levy Assessments

 

Damon Douglas, St. Johns County Land Management Special Projects Coordinator, presented a motion to enact an ordinance allowing the Treasure Beach Canal Municipal Service Benefit Unit (MSBU) to dredge the canals and a motion for levying assessments. The Board voted to enact the ordinance creating the MSBU.

v Regular Agenda Item Five – Agreement to Collect Non-ad valorem Assessments for Treasure Beach Canals

 

Damon Douglas, St. Johns County Land Management Special Projects Coordinator, presented a resolution to approve an agreement with the St. Johns County Tax Collector to collect non-ad valorem assessments and reimbursement of related administrative costs for the Treasure Beach Canal’s Municipal Service Benefit Unit. The Board voted to adopt the resolution.
