SALUTE- Inaugural FREE Veteran’s Day Concert and Picnic At Metro Park To Help Raise Money For Local Veterans.

Show Your Support for America’s Veterans with great food and live music this Veterans Day

Southside Business Men’s Club (SBMC) announces SALUTE, the first ever FREE Veteran’s Day Concert and Picnic to be held at Metropolitan Park on November 11th immediately following the Veteran’s Day Parade.  The event is open to the public and free to attend.

“SALUTE, was created to help further show the city’s appreciation for our Veterans.  Our  parade is one of the largest in the country and is an amazing gathering of people from many generations who come together to show appreciation to our local veterans and the sacrifices they have made.  This is just one way we are able to help show our support for these brave men and women on their day.” said, Ken Dean President of SBMC.

The event will be a family friendly picnic style setting, with live music played throughout the day.  Coolers, picnic blankets, and lawn chair will be permitted;  food and beverage vendors will be on site.  The net proceeds from all sponsorship and VIP packages  will go to support The Wound Warrior Project in their effort to help our veteran’s as they secure jobs and places to live within our community.  “Every year SBMC participates in the Veterans day parade, but wanted to do something more to recognize our veterans.  This year we are and we hope everyone will join us.” said Dean.

SALUTE welcomes an entire line-up of live music to add to the festivities. Such acts will include Will Pearsall, The OC Band, Back from the Brink, Laural Lee and the Escapees, Amy Hendrickson and The Prime Directive, as well as other local favorites Grandpa’s Cough Medicine and Nate Holley and much more.

As Americans enjoy the fruits and blessings of freedom, what better way to show support and give thanks to these true American heroes both past and present, for the sacrifices they and their families made, than to have a family style picnic. Everyone is welcome, so bring your family and friends and make a day of the celebration! The cause is something to be proud of, the entertainment is something worth remembering and the food and festivities will make the day complete for friends and family to enjoy. There is no better cause to celebrate than freedom, and the SBMC is proud to help make that possible.
