Ripley’s Trashy Fashion Week in St Augustine on March 24

Join Ripley’s Believe It or Not in St Augustine for a fashion show that will prove to be quite trashy

In an effort to help promote “creative recycling”, Ripley’s is looking for the best outfit and artwork made out of trash! On Saturday, March 24th, we will host a “Trashy Fashion Show” at 2:00 PM at Ripley’s Museum at 19 San Marco Ave.  Men, women and children are welcome to participate.  The best outfit will be selected in three age categories: Children 5- 12, teens 13-17 and Adults 18 and above. The winner of each division will receive $100 cash and four combo passes for Ripley’s museum, Red Trains, Ghost Train Adventure and Bayfront mini golf. All participants will be invited to visit Ripley’s free of charge on the day of the event.

Also on Saturday, there will also be a “Trashy Art” show. Bring us your art made of household trash!  The winners of the show will have their piece on display at Ripley’s museum for a month and receive $100 cash and four Ripley combo passes. We will announce two winners for the art show, one in the youth division – ages 5-12, and a 13 and up winner.

Anyone donating gently used clothing for recycling at the museum or any Red Train depot between March 20 and March 25 will also receive a $5 discount on admission to Ripley’s Museum, Ripley’s Red Trains or Ripley’s Ghost Train Adventure.

There is no fee to participate, but prior registration is required for the fashion show. To register, please e-mail your name and details to kkiff@ripleys.com. For more information on the show, please follow our facebook page at www.facebook.com/saintaugustineripleys or www.facebook.com/redtrains.

The Day After the Day Of

The Day After the Day Of by Paul Ilechko   The sky sheds its tears. This morning is the morning of the day after. The day of mourning, the day after the day of.  I beseech the sky to shed tears in order to wash away the tears on my face.   This is the first day of the time after. This is the beginning of a new time, the days of pain, the days of sorrow. We are in mourning. The sky looks down and sheds its tears for … [Read More its Good For You...]

Even now, in 2017, there are discoveries being studied; stories that were once legends now have actual bits of proof being found that … [Read More its Good for You.....]

What is in the Water in New England?

What is in the Water in New England? by Amy Lignor   “There won’t be much left in our season.”   “Doesn’t feel good.”   The above are quotes made by the top echelon – the robotic twins, if you will, of the NFL –  after their win. Yes…I said, win. For the sixth straight season the New England Patriots have won their divisional match-up and are headed on to play the AFC Championship Game in their own hometown – on … [Read More its Good for You...]

2017 Will Be Green!

2017 Will Be Green! by Amy Lignor   This statement is not a “hopeful” imagination talking; it is actually quite true. This is a company that calls themselves the “global color authority,” and states that everything from high fashion to trends will be on the green path throughout next year. So…when we look at a “green” … [Read More its Good for You...]
