PONTE VEDRA CONCERT HALL TO BLEND NATIONAL TOURING ACTS WITH LOCAL TALENT

 

Ponte Vedra Beach, FL–(Monday, December 19th, 2011)— Two new concerts have been added to the 2012 lineup for the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall: The Big Easy band The New Orleans Suspects on January 26th, and blues vocalist Shemekia Copeland on February 19th. Both of these concerts share the fact that local talent will take the stage to perform prior to the headliner. Billy Buchanan will open for The New Orleans Suspects, while Toots Lorraine and the Traffic will perform prior to Shemekia Copeland.

 

The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall is a St. Johns County Cultural Events Division venue, and aims to host events that display a variety of talent, including both local and national musicians. A spring showcase is in the works that will be dedicated to promoting the music ofNorth Floridaacts.

 

Billy Buchanan is heavily influenced by artists that are based in a more soulful, bluesy singer – songwriter tradition. Current musicians like Ray Lamontagne and Amos Lee, soul greats such as Otis Redding and Bill Withers, and southern rockers like The Allman Brothers are just a few of the artists that influence Buchanan’s sound.

 

TootsLorraineand the Traffic are a husband and wife duo who deliver a focused blend of classic vibe infused with West Coast Blues, Blue-Note Jazz and Swing. Rooted in the blues, TootsLorraineand the Traffic deliver a solid, energetic and scintillating performance.

 

Tickets for both of these seated shows will go on sale this Tuesday, December 20th at10AM. Tickets will be available for purchase at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall and St. Augustine Amphitheatre box offices, ticketmaster.com, and all Ticketmaster outlets.
