Is your pet dog a best friend or a prisoner? This is what animal rights activists are asking now as they have launched a petition to gather support for proper tethering laws in Oklahoma. The absence of such laws means abuse of dogs through prolonged chaining while no action is taken against the abuser.
The petition reads:
Oklahoma City and Norman have no tethering laws an animal can be chained or caged 24/7 and there is no law to protect them, Lawton has a law to protect their animals why don’t we. We have to make a stand for our best friends in Oklahoma City and Norman. This is how all pets should look happy healthy and loved, take a long look when you see your friend in need. We can make changes.
