James P. Hilton of Hilton Hypnosis Center Offers Two Workshops

An author and the founder of St Johns County’s only licensed hypnosis clinic will be giving a free demonstration and lecture open to all members of the general public.

James P. Hilton, founder of the Hilton Hypnosis Center of St. Augustine is booked in to conduct two workshops at the St. Johns County Public Library Systems. The first one is scheduled for 6:P.M. on June 14th at the main branch and the second one is to be held 6:P.M. on July 12th at the Bartram branch.

For 20 years Hilton instructed physicians, nurses, and paramedics for the American Heart Association and worked as an emergency medical specialist in both Broward and Dade Counties, as well as in the New York City area before that. Additionally he worked as a triage specialist at the trauma center at Shands Hospital and as a member of the organ retrieval team at the University of Miami school of medicine.

He is certified by the Hypnotherapist’s Union (AFL-CIO Local 472) and is a member of the American Hypnosis Association, the Florida Association of Naturopathic Physicians, and the National Association of EMS Educators.

Hilton who is also a fitness trainer and martial arts instructor specializes in life style issues like smoking cessation, stress management, and weight control, although he also holds certifications in pain management and sports performance enhancement.

“Somewhere down the road it occurred to me that I could do a whole lot more good helping folks as the life style coach at the top of the cliff, instead of as the medic tending to those who had already fallen off the cliff,” he said. “Contrary to the popular image of hypnosis as a parlor trick, it is fast regaining new respectability as a formidable medical tool, being used by places like Duke University Medical School and The Mayo Clinic for everything from pain relief to anesthesia,” he said.

“Hypnosis is an inbuilt gift available to all; I decided to open the clinic to educate and empower people on how they can really help themselves,” he said.

Copies of his nearly completed tenth book, Therapeutic Thoughts: The Revolutionary New Mind-Body Health Program are at the printing press now and will be available very soon he said, possibly even in time for the upcoming workshops.

Now, however, people are searching for places to travel where legends still exist, and … [Read More its Good for You...]
