How to Plant a Body

In this, the first book in what promises to be a truly incredible series, readers learn a lesson in the ‘how-to’s’ of crime. Lesson One? How to plant a body. And this is one lesson that involves everything from a spicy romance to a truly sarcastic leading lady that (if you’re anything like me) you’ll not only identify with but fall in love with automatically.

Lily Aster’s life blood is caffeine. She’s one of those women who’s beyond strong and self-assured. Her one fault seems to be opening her mouth before engaging her brain. However, her slightly sarcastic attitude comes from the fact that in her past history there was a really slimy individual who made her feel just about as bad as she possibly could about herself. Lily decided right after that incident to always hold her cards close to her chest and never let anyone in again. And that’s a promise she has kept, until…

Lily and her sister Angelica (who is a bit of an uptight perfectionist) head into work one morning just to see their beloved employee, Joey, standing outside among cop cars and fire trucks. The store is called Aster’s Offerings. This is a family business that she and her sister took over when their father had a stroke and mother had to stay home and take care of him. Now this flower shop has grown into the most successful in the city of Grangeville, Idaho, so this shocking event may just ruin business.

It seems that a dead body was found in the Aster’s greenhouse, and no one knows who it is, nor do they have any clue as to who did it. Lily isn’t all that scared, seeing as that she actually went to college to be a mortician but dropped out when she realized there was one thing she just couldn’t do.

Enter Detective Anthony Falcetti. This is one of those men who is super hot and knows it. Starting off with the Aster’s, Falcetti begins as a professional, slightly cock-of-the-walk type who infuriates Lily right off the bat. She doesn’t like brash men and she’s not about to be told what to do, or have her family questioned by such a jerk.

As the two go head to head, Lily feels the attraction building between she and the detective, yet she tries her absolute best to push him away. What’s the problem? He’s not going.

Falcetti questions all of Lily’s family, investigates Joey, who has been their employee for years and wouldn’t hurt a flea, as well as Angelica’s best friend, Candace who – as Lily states – is so ditzy she’s actually where brain cells go to die.

When Lily decides that she’s sick and tired of Falcetti upsetting her inner circle, she begins to investigate the crime herself – causing many extremely hysterical and steamy conversations between she and Falcetti. When Lily goes a bit too far with a publicity campaign to get more money into the shop it backfires, and the killer soon threatens the Aster’s. While Falcetti is trying to protect her, Lily continues on, not wanting to accept the fact that someone she loves may be involved with the hideous crime. And whether she likes it or not, Falcetti is right beside her all the way.

There isn’t enough to say about this novel, because it’s that good. The dialogue in this one is a dream; it is so funny and you’re automatically routing for Lily and just waiting for the next wise-crack to come forth. Readers will also be in love with the dreamboat, Falcetti, simply because this is a guy whose lips should be registered as lethal weapons. The plot is fast-faced, you will not know who the criminal is – let alone the victim – and you will hang on every word.

My advice? Read this one immediately. Because there are more adventures coming from Aster and Falcetti and if they’re anything like this one, this is one series you will not want to miss!

Until Next Time, Everybody,

Amy

The Day After the Day Of

The Day After the Day Of by Paul Ilechko   The sky sheds its tears. This morning is the morning of the day after. The day of mourning, the day after the day of.  I beseech the sky to shed tears in order to wash away the tears on my face.   This is the first day of the time after. This is the beginning of a new time, the days of pain, the days of sorrow. We are in mourning. The sky looks down and sheds its tears for … [Read More its Good For You...]

History Being Sold to the Highest Bidder

History Being Sold to the Highest Bidder by Amy Lignor   For the longest time, scientists and archaeologists have been confused and bemused by various discoveries they’ve unearthed that offer little or no explanation as to the who, what, and why of the people who created these things or left them behind. Even now, in 2017, there are discoveries being studied; stories that were once legends now have actual bits of proof being found that … [Read More its Good for You.....]

Carolina Skiff at Miami’s Favorite Boat Show

Carolina Skiff at Miami's Favorite Boat Show By Craig Lamb You might say “new” is a reoccurring theme of Miami’s favorite boat show coming up soon. A new location with hundreds of new boats, including never-before-seen models being debuted by Carolina Skiff, is a great way to kick off the season. Few boat shows offer buyers the chance to see new boats where they ultimately belong—floating on the water in a real time setting. You can … [Read More its Good for You...]

Can Troy Aikman Win MVP?

Can Troy Aikman Win MVP? by Amy Lignor   What a strange title for an article, aye? Of course the ‘old man’ of the Dallas Cowboys can’t win MVP. Troy Aikman was an elite QB, with three Super Bowl rings to prove that fact. However, Aikman hasn’t actually suited-up since leaving behind his Cowboys uniform in 2001. The number one overall draft pick in 1989, Aikman was the MVP of Super Bowl XXVII, and was elected to the Pro Football … [Read More its Good for You...]

2017 Will Be Green!

2017 Will Be Green! by Amy Lignor   This statement is not a “hopeful” imagination talking; it is actually quite true. Very recently the Pantone Color Institute declared that green will most definitely be THE color for 2017. This is a company that calls themselves the “global color authority,” and states that everything from high fashion to trends will be on the green path throughout next year. So…when we look at a “green” … [Read More its Good for You...]
