Holiday Tips For Seniors! ADL Caring Companions is the Perfect New Year’s Resolution!

ADL Caring Companions is one of those very rare companies that come along in this world that CARE about others.  Why capitalize?  Because as we become immersed in this festive and loving holiday season, ADL Caring Companions is continuously thinking about how to give back and provide the feelings of independence, self-worth and happiness to our senior population.  ADL Caring Companions was founded on the concept of finding a way for all seniors to stay in their own home and live their lives independently for as long as possible, by providing a friend and companion that would help take care of their needs.

At this particular moment, the state of Texas (ADL Caring Companions’ home base) is receiving these friends, and we need to broaden that scope immediately.  Franchises of ADL Caring Companions need to be available in every state, so that we can provide assistance and companionship for the elderly. It is a very true statistic that home-care providers and “elder sitters” have become more and more popular in all countries. It is said that more people are using such services because family members need help looking after their loved ones.

Not only does ADL Caring Companions offer assistance with things like running errands, preparing meals, and dispensing medication, but they also provide the most important thing of all – companionship.  Care providers attribute the rise in demand for their services to an aging population and the prevalence of nuclear families; family units where the adults work full-time and do not have as many hours free to provide custodial care for their aged members.  Care providers also meet the needs of senior citizens who are not mobile enough to use day-care services located outside the home, yet do not need full-fledged institutional care either.  In-home care is as attractive as it is convenient. In some cases, it may even be cheaper than other options, especially when the elderly person is healthy and does not require a nursing home or the care of a twenty-four hour facility.

ADL Caring Companions is the choice to provide all of these services, and today they are also offering a few tips on home safety.  If you do not yet have an ADL Caring Companion in your home and helping with your day-to-day needs, there are things that can help make home-living far safer for your loved ones.  Statistics do show that risk of injury at home has become far greater over the years, with eighty-nine percent of aging homeowners preferring to stay in the comfort of their own homes longer.  Having an ADL Caring Companion ensures constant protection.  They care a great deal and wish to provide some simple tips that family members looking after loved ones can make in the New Year to ensure they have a safe living environment.

A few suggestions that can be used to make your loved one’s home a safer place to live in are very simplistic.  Making sure that all the batteries in smoke alarms are new and in working order is a great way to begin.  Almost twenty-five percent of smoke alarm failures are due to dead batteries, so simply replace them and cut that worry out completely.

Inspect and discard any and all expired, unwanted or unused medications in your family member’s medicine cabinet.  And take the time to make sure that all medications that are necessary are clearly labeled and easy to get to.  These two small steps will eliminate any worries in that department.

It is a great idea to discuss the installation of ‘grab bars’ in the bathroom, as most accidents and falls happen in that area. Not to mention, going room-by-room and assessing potential tripping hazards is also a great way to keep the home safe.  Take note and change the area rugs that don’t have a non-skid backing, as well as move electrical cords that are lying around walkways.  Light up those poorly lit staircases and doorways to also increase the safety for your family member.

It is always a fantastic idea to install a personal safety alarm for your loved one. These can be very helpful in the event that they cannot reach a telephone or neighbor.  Strategically placing lamps close to the bed in easy to reach locations, as well as having emergency numbers written in large print placed near each phone, can also protect the home. These are just a few easy steps that will give everyone involved a lasting peace of mind.

ADL Caring Companions should always be known as the friend when it comes to elder care situations.  They prove again and again that they are completely dedicated to making lives easier, better and, most importantly, safer.  And something that must always be mentioned is the amazing opportunity to bring ADL Caring Companions into your very own neighborhood.  If you are the kind of person who wants to give back and strives to make sure that the seniors in our world are treated with dignity, respect and kindness, then you were made to be a franchise owner of this incredible company.

With the New Year around the corner, there are many people who are looking to start 2012 out on a purely positive note.  They are looking to open a business that they believe in, and there is no better opportunity to give back and make a successful business at the same time than opening a franchise of ADL Caring Companions.  This is one of those companies that believes in what they are doing, and their goal is to build a network of successful franchise owners who CARE as much as they do about their fellow men and women. ADL wants people who have the right blend of talents, abilities and skill sets that include a real desire to learn and a huge heart that truly wants to make other peoples’ lives better.

From every standpoint ADL Caring Companions does not fall into the category of an ordinary company.  They do not provide products and services that you should have, they provide a service that seniors MUST have.  Joining up with a company who prides themselves on truly caring for our senior population is one of the absolute best New Year’s resolutions you can make!

Happy Holidays!

Until Next Time, Everybody!
