Free Grooming with Dog Adoption from St. Johns County Pet Center

St. Augustine Humane Society offers grooming with dog adoptions from St. Johns County Pet Center.

St. Augustine Humane Society will offer one free dog grooming session per week to those who adopt dogs at the St. Johns County Pet Center. The new program will be offered at the Pet Center’s discretion. Grooming services will be held at Society Pet Spa, which is one of the Humane Society’s programs to support the non-profit’s mission to prevent pet overpopulation with affordable spay neuter programs and to eliminate the need for relinquishment of pets to shelters.

The free grooming session is valued at $60 and includes a bath, blow dry, brush out, nail trim, ear cleaning, and a full haircut for a small to medium size dog. Large or extra large dogs may be additional.  The offer must be used no longer than 30 days after the formal date of adoption.

The St. Augustine Humane Society and the St. Johns County Pet Center work together on a variety of educational programs and services that help new pet owners with the journey of a shelter dog, successful adoptions and pet ownership.

According to Carolyn Smith, St. Augustine Humane Society’s Operations Director, the grooming offer will help to start the adopted pet on a positive and clean start in its new home. “Our thanks goes out to St. Johns County Animal Control and Pet Center where someone will adopt a deserving new pet while participating in a fun community activity,” said Smith. For more information, call 904.829.2737 or email grooming@staughumane.org. Visit the website at www.staugustinehumanesociety.org.

The St. Augustine Humane Society promotes responsible pet ownership and strengthens the human-animal bond through education and training; works to reduce the need for relinquishment of pets to shelters through assistance services and through effective, affordable spay and neuter efforts; and is a resource center for the citizens and animals of St. Johns County, Florida. The facility is located at 1665 Moultrie Road in St. Augustine, Fla. Business hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 9 am until 4 pm. Closed on Sunday and Monday. For more information call

History Being Sold to the Highest Bidder

History Being Sold to the Highest Bidder by Amy Lignor   For the longest time, scientists and archaeologists have been confused and bemused by various discoveries they’ve unearthed that offer little or no explanation as to the who, what, and why of the people who created these things or left them behind. Even now, in 2017, there are discoveries being studied; stories that were once legends now have actual bits of proof being found that … [Read More its Good for You.....]

What is in the Water in New England?

What is in the Water in New England? by Amy Lignor   “There won’t be much left in our season.”   “Doesn’t feel good.”   The above are quotes made by the top echelon – the robotic twins, if you will, of the NFL –  after their win. Yes…I said, win.
