At 10:15 a.m., on Saturday, September 18, 2010, at the Main Library located at 1960 N. Ponce de Leon Blvd. St. Augustine, the Florida Writers-Ancient City Chapter welcomes true crime co-authors, McCay and Marie Vernon.
Authors of Deadly Lust and Deadly Charm, the Vernon’s each bring different and specific skills and knowledge to the craft of writing their novels. At the September presentation, McCay and Marie will discuss the research that goes into a story based on facts, how those facts are assembled into a book, the publishing and marketing aspects, and what it’s like to work in collaboration.
Deadly Lustwas based on the multiple murders committed by St. Augustine native, William Lindsey, while Deadly Charm, just released, is the story of Patrick McCullough, the only known deaf serial killer. McCay is a psychologist specializing in deafness and forensics, while Marie is a journalist with two published books of her own as the result of her historical research projects.
This program is being offered free of charge to writers of all genres by the Ancient City Chapter of the Florida Writers Association, in partnership with the St. John’s County Public Library, Main Branch Friends of the Library. Following the discussion, there will be an author book signing to benefit the Friends of the Library.
