St. Johns County Fire Rescue (SJCFR) and Firefighters for Families (FF4F) are gearing up for our annual “Wonder of the Holidays” toy and food donation drive and we need your help. As Christmas approaches, we are running very short on our food drive supplies. If you are willing and have the ability Firefighters for Families needs your help in our collections of non-perishable food items to be distributed to these families.
From now until December 18th, FF4F will be accepting donations of any non-perishable food items. These food items can be dropped off at any St. Johns County Fire Station or at Fire Rescue Administration. If you aren’t able to shop and would prefer to make a monetary donation, checks can be made out to Firefighters for Families and sent to SJCFR Administration 3657 Gaines Rd. St. Augustine, FL 32084. During this time period, we will also accept donations of any new unwrapped toys which can also be dropped off at any fire station location in St. Johns County.
FF4F is a 501(c) 3 of SJCFR supported solely by charitable contributions and donations primarily from the St. Johns County Community. Each year, FF4F receives a list of families from the St. Johns County School District that meet adoption criteria. Members of FF4F then spend the month of December shopping, sorting and wrapping hundreds of presents for these children and families.
This year, FF4F has been asked to adopt 150+ St. Johns County Families in need. This is a significant increase over last year’s program, butFF4F and SJCFR looks forward to working with the SJC community and doing our part to help some for the less fortunate families of St. Johns County.
