‘Rock of Ages’ casting director Ellen Jacoby is coming to Jacksonville to teach two acting workshops.

Sound Tree Entertainment is pleased to announce that “Rock Of Ages” casting director, Ellen Jacoby is coming to Jacksonville on Saturday, June 9th to teach two acting workshops.

In the morning session, Jacoby will be teaching Monologue Techniques. Talent will perform their own interpretation of a monologue which will be reviewed based on their choices, mannerisms, range, timing and delivery. Then talent will receive feedback and test their listening and interpretation skills and will perform the monologue again, making the necessary adjustments to the piece and be evaluated. In the afternoon, Jacoby will be teaching Acting for Film and Television. This session will teach the right skills and approach to win the role. The class will test talent’s ability to mix the delivery of the piece. Talent will be reviewed in all areas from timing, delivery, and range to connecting with the camera.

Jacoby has cast for such films as Something About Mary, True Lies, Bad Boys, The Truman Show and Ali. Her latest film, Rock of Ages, starring Tom Cruise, is being released nationally on June 15th. A portion of the proceeds from the workshop help support the Blessings in a Backpack Program in Jacksonville (www.blessingsinabackpack.org). The Executive Producer of Sound Tree Entertainment, Gregory James Blount, is a member of the Board of Directors, Jacksonville Chapter, and believes strongly in charitable giving. He is joined by many other celebrities including Miley Cyrus, Hillary Duff, Olympic gymnast Shannon Miller, The Goo Goo Dolls and Sammy Hagar.

This is a fantastic opportunity to get credential-based training and meet one-on-one with one of the industry’s best casting directors. Parents are welcome to stay and observe throughout the day. The workshops will be held at The Performers Academy, 3674 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida 32207. Space is limited for both classes.
