Host Introduction to Coin Collecting for K-12 Children
St. Johns County, FL. – The St. Johns County Public Library System and Greater Jacksonville Coin Club (GJCC) invite children in grades K-12 to explore the exciting world of coin collecting during an introductory educational program at 4 p.m. on Monday, April 21 at the Bartram Trail Branch Library, 60 Davis Pond Blvd, Fruit Cove. Join library staff and the GJCC, the oldest and largest coin club in North Florida, as they discuss all the U.S. coin issues from 1792 to 2014 and present a U.S. TYPE SET complete with all issues, including rare 2 cents, 3 cents, half dimes, and silver dollar pieces. Participants will also have the opportunity to learn about the history of the coins, how they are made, and how mint facilities operate across the U.S. in Philadelphia, San Francisco, Denver, Carson City, and West Point.
