Celebrate the Holidays in a Better Way!

Every week we speak in-depth regarding the products and information that Better Way Health provides to any and all who follow their blog. In fact, Better Way Health has become one of the most well-trusted sites on the internet when it comes to good health, living longer, taking the right vitamins, installing clean, healthy water systems in your home, and more. They are a ‘team’ that is on call 24/7, and is constantly investigating, studying and providing new information and the latest updates on good health.

Knowing all this great information about this incredible company, it should come as no surprise to bring up the subject of the holiday season – which is coming seriously quickly – and talk about the Better Way to enjoy the happiest and healthiest holiday season possible.

Now, we all know about exercise tips and how to make sure that you don’t fall off the diet and health ‘wagon’ during the time of holiday treats and tables dressed with everything from turkey to stuffing to chocolate galore; but when it comes to having a truly fantastic holiday while still being able to indulge in some seriously and surprisingly healthy holiday foods, Better Way Health is once again on your side.

There are many foods people may believe are bad when, in fact, they are good and help your system n more ways than one. And even though some of the old ‘family favorites’ when it comes to the holidays may be bad – there are ways to actually make them beneficial to your health without losing that incredible flavor you’re so fond of.

In my house, it was my grandmother’s apple pie and her homemade stuffing recipe that made the family members want to jump across the holiday table and gobble them up so we wouldn’t have to share. The recipes are still among us, although the creator is now celebrating the holidays in Heaven and sorely missed, and we have found a way to alter the slightly fatty favorites just the slightest little bit to make sure that the holidays remain festive…while the heart remains healthy.

Countless nutritional benefits can be found in holiday favorites, and those benefits begin with the good, old Turkey. For those who don’t know, turkey is a true source of protein, and a single serving actually provides almost half of the recommended daily allowance of folic acid, as well as vitamin B, zinc AND potassium. You are talking about the required nutrients that lower blood cholesterol, are protective against cancers and heart disease, and are also prevalent in boosting your immune system. Now, even though the legs are enjoyed, the healthiest way to eat the turkey is to stick to the white meat and peel the skin off. That way you are cutting out a whole lot of calories, and still feasting on one seriously delicious bird!

One of the dishes served at most holiday tables come in the form of sweet potatoes. And, no, these are not holiday fiends. In fact, they are beyond healthy and if served roasted, they offer everything from fiber to vitamin A to potassium. Yes, you need to forgo the desire for the pretty marshmallows, but if you do, you receive a healthy dish that helps prevent various cancers and arthritis.

Bless the cranberry… If you are talking about a Better Way to eat, think about that fantastic cranberry sauce. This ‘favorite’ immediately provides a wealth of antioxidants to fight diseases and help lower cholesterol. And, really…why add the sugar? After al, the natural taste of cranberries is absolutely amazing.

What holiday meal conversation would be complete without everyone’s favorite – stuffing? Even though  many see this dish as beyond fattening, that is so not true. Stuffing is one of those sides that can be prepared in a dozen different ways, and to chock the stuffing full of nuts, carrots, celery, peas, and more, will provide you with the fiber and vitamins your body needs.

The pumpkin pie is a Thanksgiving ‘staple’ – but even though this falls under the category of dessert, you are talking about one ‘treat’ filled with fiber and vitamin A that truly keeps your heart healthy.

See? In the end, there is always a Better Way to do the things you love, eat the foods you crave, and still give your body the vitamins and supplements it needs to stay young and healthy!

So as the season approaches, just know that Better Way Health is always looking out for you!

We Are Still…All in This Together!

We Are Still…All in This Together! by Amy Lignor   December 7, 1941. Sunday morning was lovely on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. Just before the clocks struck 8:00 a.m., however, the country of Japan launched planes from six aircraft carriers in what would be considered the “first wave” of … [Read More its Good for You...]
